Piper's eyes fluttered open and she was greeted with Marshall's face, right in front of hers. She jumped slightly and then reached out to pet the dog who rested his head on the side of the bed. She felt Tyler stir behind her, his arm draped across her and his chest pressed against her back.
"What's wrong?" Tyler asked groggily. His morning voice sounding deep and sexy.
"Nothing, sorry. Marshall kinda scared me."
"Yeah he does that..." Tyler said knowing exactly what she meant. He removed his arm from Piper's body and stretched a little. Piper felt cold as his body moved away from hers. She turned around and patted for Marshall to come up. The dog jumped onto the bed with ease and curled up right against her legs, just as he had the night before. Soon after Marshall had gotten comfortable, Piper heard paws running on the hardwood floors, getting gradually louder.
"Brace yourself." Tyler said into his pillow as he turned onto his stomach.
Cash and Gerry sprinted into the room and launched themselves onto the bed attacking Tyler and Piper with kisses. Piper laughed as the two dogs wiggled with excitement.
"Marshall seems annoyed." Piper stated as she studied the dog.
"He's the oldest. And doesn't love being jumped on." Tyler said as he turned his head toward Piper, his hair messy. Piper smiled at Marshall. The dog seemed to be studying her too.
"It's like he's attached to you or something." Tyler said looking over at Marshall, who now had his head rested on top of Piper's legs.
"Maybe so. I guess i'll have to take him with me today." Piper said jokingly. Tyler smiled, knowing she was kidding.
"Where are you going today?" Tyler asked as he turned on his side to face Piper.
"I have a flight to Vegas tonight with Josie."
"You're leaving already?" Tyler asked and Piper nodded.
"We haven't been staying in one place for more than two days." Piper explained. Piper studied Tyler's face as he seemed to be thinking.
Tyler really didn't want her to leave just yet. Something was different about this girl. Maybe it was the fact that she made her own money and didn't want to live off him or have him buy her expensive things like every other girl. Maybe it was because she was so easy to talk to. Maybe it was because she was a mystery to him. He wasn't sure, but he wanted more time to figure it out.
"Stay." Tyler said. Piper looked at him and gave him a confused look.
"What?" Piper asked.
"Stay here. With me. Josie can stay too if she wants..." Tyler pleaded. Piper was utterly confused.
"Why?" She asked.
"I wanna know more about you." He said, his eyes soft. Piper could tell he was serious.
"I can't... I promised Josie we would travel..." Piper started but Tyler cut her off.
"Just stay for a few more days. At least until your eye heals. You probably don't want someone to get a picture of it." Tyler said, his thumb gently touching underneath her eye.
"What are you saying? I look ugly?" Piper asked smirking.
"No, never. I'm just trying to protect you from the media." Piper laughed a little.
"Mhmm..." She said. Tyler smirked.
"So?" He asked, looking at her intently.
Piper coudn't lie, the idea intrigued her. She knew Josie would approve of her staying with Tyler. The only person who wouldn't approve would be her mother, but she wasn't there, was she.
"Okay." Piper said. Tyler smiled.
What was she getting herself into...
