It was July, Selena's eight months pregnant and now 34 years old. Demi's five months pregnant but nothing much has changed.

It was 12 am, when Joe came downstairs for a midnight snack, only to see his only nephew Michael huddled up on the couch in his bathrobe, staring out of the window with bloodshot eyes. The sparkle that normally shone in his brown eyes (so much like his mother) was extinguished, and Joe knew how much Michael was hurting.

"Mike?"

"I couldn't sleep," he said softly. "I just kept staring at the ceiling replaying everything, my childhood with mom."

Joe nodded. "I know exactly what you mean." Joe took a seat in the armchair next to the couch, leaning over and putting a hand on his nephew's shoulder.

"I suppose you're happy because your family is all together," Michael said through clenched teeth.

"That's not true, Mike. Everyone's falling apart because your mother is not here, your Aunt Selena's best friend, everyone's friend, and your dad's first love. He'd do anything for you, you know that. You also know that you have a sibling on the way."

"I know, Uncle Joe. But if everyone's falling apart then why did you always guys check on me?"

"Anyone here wants to make you happy, I know that your dad always put you first. I've seen how much it hurts you and him, Michael, and I just want you guys and I  want you to do to your part and start calling him dad. It will make your mother happy."

Michael nodded. "I understand, Uncle Joe, that you only want what's best for me and Kevin, but I don't know if I can do that." And suddenly he was crying again, and Joe moved to kneel before his nephew, pulling him into his arms for a hug. "I need her to come home. I need her."

Joe shushed his nephew. "She will Mike. She's a fighter. She'll come home."

This way very emotional
