Lady Mary was inspired by the prompts provided by RedFeatherAward for their Summer Writing Contest of 2019.
If you are inspired by the prompts, I encourage you to pop over to the Red Feather Award and follow the rules to submit your piece. New and beautiful pieces of writing never fail to be enjoyed.
The competition runs from May 1st to August 31st, so even if you are just inspired, there is still plenty of time to compose and submit your piece!
The prompts are:
A broken key
The smell of rain
An old book
Inspired by the imagery of these simple words, Lady Mary was born. As the prompts screamed vintage to me, this is my first piece of historical fiction yet it came together like a puzzle missing no pieces.
Therefore, it is without further ado that I present you with Lady Mary and sincerely hope you enjoy the words that follow.
