One month later
My wings fluttered faster to keep up with Azazul, Leo and Halcyon. We were heading to magic class, my favorite class. We walked in and were met by the kind smiles of Falcon and Swan.
I took my place in the front row and prepared to begin.
"Cyrah, Azazul come up and demonstrate your power." Carla, teachers assistant said.
The two of us got up to the front of the class.
"Today we will be practicing using your power for self defense-" Azazul cut off Swan, "Ah, so like this?" Azazul summoned a viper, who turned to slap me in the face. Without even thinking, a wall of ice came around me. Protecting my face from Azazul's vile attempt.
This was my new relationship with my power. I didn't flip out as much, I just let my power do its thing. Sure, I still flipped out a couple of times, but I can handle it. Even in geology, Miss. Pearl was helping me use my stone without going so deep that I fall apart.
I'm seeing fewer angels in the halls, which is a good thing. It means that our community feels safe being themselves. All because of a naive girl who wasn't ready to be different. But like I've said earlier, a normal life is a life without adventure, and that isn't the life for me.
