Perfect life? Perhaps not

Chapter 7

"David?! What are you doing here?" asks Kayla while David carries her down the stairs.

"Hi Kayla. I was invited by your father. Well my father Alejandro is his business partner and we were invited to meet his newly discovered daughter. I can't believe that is you."

George rushes to them.

"Kayla, are you okay?"

"Yes I am fine. Don't worry. David saved me."

"You two know each other?" asks George.

"Yes, we are old friends. We met couple of years ago." answers Kayla.

"Oh. I didn't know that. I am glad you are okay. Now come with me to introduce you to other people."

After that George introduced her to many people. She didn't see David until she met his father.

"Alejandro, I want you to meet my daughter Kayla Smith." says George.

"Nice to meet you." replies Alejandro.

"Nice to meet you too Mr. Santos." says Kayla.

"I have to go check on dinner. I will be back soon." says George and leaves. Soon after him also Alejandro leaves.

"So Kayla. I heard you and Sasha broke up. What happened?" says David.

"His mother separated us when she found out I am the George's daughter. Would you mind if we didn't talk about him?"

"No problem. So how is your other family?"

"Everything is great. Well dad is sick but other than that everything alright."

"Oh, I am so sorry to hear that. I hope he gets better. Anyway do you still ride the horses or did you stop?"

"I haven't done that since I met George. I was planning on getting back on the horse but some things happened and then I had nowhere to do that."

At that moment George goes to the stage and says "Dinner is ready! Please join me in the dining room."

As they walked in Kayla found out she was sitting between George and David. She had an amazing time talking to David and George didn't seem to mind. After dinner they went back to saloon and had fun dancing and talking to each other. As the party was finishing David said to Kayla "I had a nice time today. Thank you for making those parties interesting." She then answered "Thank you for saving me from visiting a hospital again. I hope I will see you soon again." David then left and Kayla went to her room to get ready for sleep. Before she went to bed she wrote a letter to Monica.

Dear mum!

It is my first day here. There was a welcome party for me. I almost fell down the stairs but David (Sasha's friend) saved me and carried me down the stairs. I am fine, don't worry about me. I had fun and now I am preparing myself to go to bed. I promise to write again soon.

After that she sealed the letter and went to bed. She woke up after only three hours of sleep. As she was used to getting up at five o'clock in the morning. She showered, brushed her teeth and got dressed in jeans and a yellow t-shirt. She put on trainers and went to find the kitchen since she wasn't sure that Leah or Ramon were awake yet. When she got to the kitchen she was surprised to see that they use Nespresso machine to make coffee. She was happy and made herself a cup of latte macchiato and sat down to organize her day. After a few minutes Leah entered the kitchen to start making breakfast for her bosses and almost fainted when she saw Kayla sitting there.

"Miss Smith, is everything ok?"

"Hi Leah. Everything is fine. I just came to get myself a cup of coffee."

"You could have called and I would bring it to you."

"I know, Leah. But I wanted to see the apartment. By the way do you maybe know where David Santos lives?"

"Yes. Sure. He is staying in the hotel Imperial. I heard Roman telling Enrique how nice the hotel is."

"Thank you for telling me. I have one more question. Does my Mercedes have GPS?"

"I think so. And let me guess. You want to know how you can get to the garage?"

"Yes. How did you know that?"

"I am sorry if I was rude but you did ask me about the car so I assumed you want to go somewhere alone. Anyway you can take this elevator to the basement one and right by the elevator is your car. I will go get you the key."

"Thank you."

Leah leaves the room and gets the keys to Kayla's car and comes back in a minute. She gives her the keys.

"Thank you again." Kayla says.

"No problem, Miss."

"You can call me Kayla."

"I would actually prefer calling you Miss Smith since I have to call others like that."

"Ok, bye now."

Kayla leaves and sits into her car. She sets the GPS to Imperial Hotel and drives towards it. When she comes there she goes to the reception.

"Hello. Welcome to Hotel Imperial. How may I help you?" says the receptionist.

"Would you mind telling me in which room I can find Mr. David Santos?"

"Yes of course. He is in the room 454. Would you like me to call him and tell him you're here? If yes, please tell me your name."

"Yes please. My name is Kayla Smith."

The receptionist calls David's room but no one answers.

"I am sorry but he might still be sleeping or is outside the hotel somewhere. You can wait him on that sofa if you would like." says the receptionist.

In the next moment David steps into the lobby and sees Kayla.

"Kayla, what are you doing here?"

"I am here to see you. I wanted to know if you would like to go site seeing with me."

"Absolutely. Let me just go change and I will be right back."

"Deal."
