Together Breakfast

"Where are the others?" Steven asks Alex as he opens the window and looks out at the sunrise.

Alex looks over at Steven while she holds her Katana in one hand.

"I don't know...probably on a mission or something," She guesses and swings her Katana a few times.

"Hmm, guess I'm making us breakfast," Steven tells her as he walks towards kitchen.

"Have fun," Alex smirks.

Steven puts waffles, syrup and popcorn on the table. He puts them in the toaster and grabs them when they pop. Then, he places them on a plate and pours syrup on them.

"Pearl, Amethyst, Garnet? Is anyone home?" He bangs on the temple door.

"Steven... I already told you that they're probably on a mission...," Alex tells him.

Steven microwaves popcorn and dumps it over the waffles.

Steven sits by the warp pad. "One, two, three warp in!" He falls down and groans.

"You okay?" Alex asks him.

"Yep! Guess they're still out saving the world," He sighs.

Alex smiles at him before looking at her Katana with a thoughtful expression.

Then he puts whipped cream on the waffles and a single Strawberry on top of it.

"Look at you, you are out of control! Alex, it's done! Hmm, it's too good for us to eat this alone. It's a... together breakfast," Steven says.

Alex almost knocks off the TV before looking at Steven.

"You think the others are going to eat with us?" she asks him.

"Yes!" Steven answers happily and excited.

Alex looks at him and shakes her head with a small smile.

Suddenly the warp pad activates, and Steven falls off the counter while Alex looks at it.

Both look excited at the warp pad.

Garnet appear in the warp pad holding a scroll.

"Garnet!" Alex says happily.

"Ah, Garnet, perfect! Check it out! It's not exactly healthy, but it's in a stack, so I guess you could say, it's a balanced breakfast?" Steven makes a pun and Alex chuckles slightly.

Steven smiles and Garnet just stands there.

Alex looks at Steven who makes a weird face.

"You know as I made us breakfast. I thought we could eat together. Like, like best buds." Steven tells her.

"I can't stay. There's a business to attend inside the temple." Garnet says.

Both Stevens and Alex smile falters. Alex frowns slightly.

"Alex...you're not practising with your Katana in the living room. Are you?" She asks Alex amusingly as she opens the Temple Gate with her Gems.

"No..., I would never do such kind off things," Alex says as she hides her Katana behind her back.

Two Gems, huh? Red and Blue? Alex thinks as she looks at Garnet.

"Aw, business? Like what?" Steven asks disappointed as he puts the plate on the table.
