"so...at the club you rescued me from, they have artists perform." billie says biting into a piece of toast.

it was morning and we were all eating breakfast at april's.

"alright so, what's the plan?" april asks, grabbing her computer.

"i heard the guards talking about someone performing tonight. if you cancel the person who's supposed to be performing and put kam on the list we-"

"whoa whoa whoa. you guys want me to get up on stage and sing?"

"yes." she says and i begin to hear april tapping away.

"well, how is this going to help me take him down."

"his place is swarming with bad guys. from the stage, you'll have a perfect view of everyone and it'll be easier to take them all down. once you're done, you can go get him." she explains.

"and what're you two gonna be doing?" i ask.

"we'll be on stage with you. controlling the music and telling you who the bad guys are."

i nod and sigh.

"i sure as hell hope this works."

"thank you all for coming tonight! we have a new act for you! kamryn and the asstones!"

really april?

the crowd cheers as we get on stage. april's controlling the music, billie's got backup vocals and pointing out the bad guys and me...

well i'm on stage in front of a big ass crowd of people.

if i'm being honest, i don't think i can do this. i mean, i love music and performing is something i've wanted to do for a long ass time.

but not like this.

"kamryn, are you ready?" i hear billie say over my earpiece. i smile and take a deep breath.

"i'm ready."

the lights dim and the music starts.

you walked away
you left me out here on the floor

"alright kam, the two guys by the bar. take them out..."

and that begun a spree.

one after one, guys fell silently in the crowd. everyone was so busy dancing to the music that they didn't even notice. green lights and special affects from april and billie's amazing vocals made the show fantastic.

i was almost done with the song when i saw him leave out the back door. my target.

"april he's getting away!" i whisper through the earpiece.

"go go go, we'll cover for you." billie taps my shoulder and takes over the mic.

i rush outside and see him standing a couple feet away. like he was waiting for me.

"kamryn, you found me."

"who are you?" i ask angrily. by now my eyes were glowing and my veins were practically popping out of my skin.

"you don't recognize me? gosh, how rude of me. just wait." he laughs a bit and closes his eyes, i'm assuming to change his color back. but his hair starts changing too.

wait, we can do that?

"um kam, we need to go. like now. there are more bad guys and they're looking for you." april frantically pants over the earpiece.

i focus hard on his neck, trying to choke him, but then he opens his eyes.

and i see everything clearly.

"kamryn! what are you doing, c'mon! kill him and let's get out of here!"

"i can't kill him!" i scream feeling tears brim my eyes.

"what? what do you mean?" billie questions.

i fall to the ground and feel a tear slip down my cheek.

"he's my brother."
