I groaned as my alarm clock pierced through my ears. I buried my face into my pillow and attempted sleeping through the noise and failed. I dejectedly got out of bed and walked to my desk, shutting off the alarm. I was about to head over to my wardrobe when I remembered my new chore.

I opened my window and looked out to see Luke sleeping on his bed, as expected. Let me briefly explain a little something about this boy. Luke is the heaviest sleeper I've met. Saying he's a heavy sleeper might even be an understatement, because this boy NEVER wakes up.

"HEY!" I yelled out my window. No effect. "It's time for school!" I proceeded. I glanced at the clock and decided to change into my day clothes before anything. When I finished, I started brushing my teeth and checked up on Luke, who hasn't budged. "LUKE! WAKE UP!!!!!" I screamed. Luke shuffled in his bed, hearing me. Maybe it was a good thing Luke left his window open last night, even if he did it to make the music louder. "You don't want to be late on your first day of school do you?" I called out. I took an empty pop can from my desk and chucked it through the window, hitting him square in the stomach. "LUKE. WAKE. UP!" I grabbed my bin and started tossing random things at him. "LUUUKKEEE!" I threw an ice cream stick at him which landed right on his face. Luke wrinkled his nose and took it off, slowly sitting up. He started rubbing his eyes as I impatiently waited. I threw another crumpled piece of paper at him.

"Would you stop already?!" he hissed, harshly turning towards my direction. I smiled and put down my bin, satisfied.

"You have ten minutes until I'm leaving without you," I said, leaving the room.

I just finished my scrambled eggs when I saw Luke walking down the stairs. I got up from the table and thanked Mrs Hemmings for the breakfast, walking alongside with Luke.

"Why do you have to come inside? Why don't you just wait for me at your house or something?" Luke muttered, stepping on to the pavement.

"Because my mum never cooks breakfast for me," I replied. We walked to school together in an unsettling silence. A lot of people were staring by the time we entered the main gate. Weird, nobody ever notices me.

"Hi," two girls approached us and smiled nervously at Luke. He raised an eyebrow.

"Are you new here?" one of them asked.

"Yeah, I am," Luke answered.

"Oh. We could show you around if you'd like,' said the other one flirtatiously.

"Uhh I'm here," I slightly raised my hand to remind them of my existence. They shot me feeble glares before they moved their attention back to Luke.

"Anyway, my name's -"

"Look! They're here!"

All four of us turned around to see a bunch of girls gathering around the gates. The two girls exchanged excited glances before they smiled at us and said,

"It was nice meeting you!" and ran towards the crowd. My heart suddenly started racing when I realised who it was.

"LUKE!" I widened my eyes at my neighbour.

"What?" he said back.

"Let's get out of the walkway. Like, now," I hurriedly shoved him away from the path.

"You look great, Niall!!"

"Ahhh, Calum!"

"Michael, can I squeeze your cheeks?!"

"I love your smile, Ashton ~!"

"Louis you're so cute!!!!"

"What's going on?" Luke asked. He refused to budge any farther than beside the walkway.

"They're the most popular boys. Girls are always swooning over them and stuff. It's ridiculous. I don't even know why," I scoffed, trying to make it convincing that I wasn't one of them. Luke didn't seem to be buying it from the look he was giving me. "Okay fine. They're only the hottest guys ever. Do me a favour and try to avoid them at school, okay?" I ordered. Luke looked at me blankly, then back at the boys, who were approaching closer.

"Hey there," Luke stepped in front of them. My jaw dropped to the floor. All the girls stopped talking and watched closely, admiring Luke's appearance. "So, my friend here, Naomi," he pointed back at me, their eyes followed. I made eye contact with Louis and my heart stopped working. "She has this huge crush on all of you. And she thinks you're, 'only the hottest guys ever'. Isn't that cute?" Luke smirked. My face turned bright red as people around us started pointing and snickering. I am going to kill this kid. I am going to kill him and then laugh at his dead body. "So why don't you guys -" Luke was cut off from me brutally dragging him away from the boys and shoving him inside the school.

"I hate you! You know that?!" I snapped at him.

"Aww don't play the hate card," Luke whined cutely.

"Will you shut up?!" I barked, "Just don't talk to me. Find the office yourself and get your timetable," with that I stormed away from Luke, turning into a corridor and entering my first period. I angrily plopped into a seat in the front and started thinking about what just happened. This isn't really a big deal, right? I'm sure they've got tons of confessions before.

A few people sniggered at me as they entered the classroom and I slammed my head down on the desk in embarrassment.

'I'll see you next period, Louis!"

I looked up and saw Louis outside of the room waving to the other boys. Crap I forgot I have first period with him!

"Try not to eat all of your lunch again, Michael," Louis smiled and pointed at him. He turned back towards my direction and I quickly slammed my forehead back on the desk, trying not to be noticed. I listened carefully to his footsteps until I knew he was passed my desk. I pulled my head up in relief before I heard the chair behind me slide.

Louis is sitting behind me.

This doesn't happen. He usually sits in the back with his other friends. Should I say something about this morning? Or maybe he just doesn't want to -

"Okay, students, today we're going to do book work," the teacher said as the bell rang. The students groaned in response. "Oh aren't your lives so hard?" the teacher commented sarcastically.

I sighed. I guess Louis doesn't really think much of the whole thing. I probably shouldn't have reacted at Luke like I did ... Should I apologise?

I laughed at myself at the thought. I'd never say sorry to that jerk. I blew the bangs out of my face and opened the book.

The bell rung and I groaned since I've been dreading second period. I have it with all of the boys, and it's most likely going to be awkward. I collected my stuff and started walking to class. When I came in I saw all of the boys already there, talking and laughing like they always do when they're together.

Expect something was different.

Luke was with them.
