you came out as gay today. everyone's being so supportive. matt and i have spent hours reading the comments on your post. all the tweets. everyone is so happy. i keep seeing comments about how milex is real and they make me sigh.

alex sighed as he threw his journal down. matt was still scrolling through twitter on his laptop.

"come on alex, you practically wrote a whole album for him!" matt said after alex didn't respond. "actually two" alex said sarcastically. "you have to tell him eventually!"

alex felt a tear roll down his cheek. he knew he would never be good enough for miles.

"come on al, call him and ask him if he wants to come to our new year's eve party"

that's crazy! why would i want him to come to OUR party? it's for the band! not him!

alex dismissed those thoughts and picked up his phone. he went into his contacts until he found the name.

he hit the call button. it only rang twice before miles picked up.

"hello love!" miles' liverpudlian accent was as perfect as ever and alex felt his body tingle.

"hey miles! congrats on the coming out thing. i'm so proud of you after all these years of bottling it up" "thanks alex!" "yeah of course. um, anyways, matt and i were wondering if you were free new year's eve?"

"cool cool. so do you wanna come to our new year's eve party? it's just a small thing with the band but we all miss you and we'd love to have you there" "sounds amazing!" "ok i'll have matt text you the details. anyways, i gotta go. busy time of you. bye miles!" "bye mate love you!"

then matt's phone dinged. he glanced at it the read an instagram notification.

mileskane just posted a photo

"is that miles?" alex asked. "um yeah. he posted on instagram" alex's heart started beating faster. what could it be?

matt clicked on the notification and read the post. his expression dropped.

"what does it say?" alex asked. matt handed him the phone. alex read the post and stayed quiet for a minute. he handed the phone back to matt as his eyes filled with tears.

"aww al don't cry it's ok. you know miles doesn't keep boyfriends anyways. come on, i bet they won't last to new year's eve"

alex couldn't get the picture of his mind. jack was absolutely stunning. he had perfect blonde hair, similar to how alex's was in 2013 before he grew it out a little. he had blue eyes and an irresistible smile.
