Chapter 3- Hanging out and learning the truth

The morning before your scheduled hangout with Tadano was hectic to say the least. It all felt like a dream except you were awake to experience it.

You laid in bed wearing your {f/c} pajamas and scrolled through tons of previous text messages Re-reading them over and over.

Cute Slacker: "Hey {Y/n}, How's it going?"

You: " just getting my sleep hours back. Work is seriously stressful."

Cute Slacker: "Lol, sounds like a drag."

You: "Oh yea? I don't see you clock in an eight hour shift every day >~<"

Cute Slacker: "That makes sense. {Nickname} does need her rest after all."

Tadano started to call you by a nickname he chose which you really didn't mind with. The soft light from your phone illuminated your blushing face as you squealed under the covers just thinking about it.

Your moment was cut short when your alarm next to you went off even though you were already awake.

Your boss was surprisingly generous enough to give you the day off which meant you had just enough time to get ready.

After freshening up and getting dressed, you made yourself a small quick snack so you wouldn't feel hungry.

By the time 12:00 rolls around, you patiently stood at the corner of your apartment occasionally checking your phone. The noise from all the traffic calmed you down a bit as you watched cars drive up and down the busy streets.

Chatter from people crossing the sidewalk was also able to soothe you from nervousness. 'Stay calm and collected {Y/n}. You got nothing to worry about. Just two friends hanging out...right?'

Suddenly a car pulls up to the curb but wasn't the car you expected to see. Instead of a regular vehicle was  a.  Freaking.  LIMO!!

The window casually rolled down to reveal Tadano chillin in the back seat as if this was all normal. "Ready to go {Y/n}?"

Utterly speechless, you slowly got in the limo and soon the two of you were off.

Once you recollected your composer, you set your handbag down next to you, leaning back into the cushioned seat while giving a soft glance to Tadano.

"You seriously didn't have to rent a limo just so we can hang out you know?" He chuckled a little while propping up his arms against his knees. "Why have a regular vehicle when a limo is much faster?"

Giving a small nod, you got comfortable until a robotic voice began speaking.

"Sir please guide me in the direction you would like to travel to."

You sat there confused but gasped when Tadano immediately perked up as a sweat drop appeared on his head. "Sorry about that, i should've told you first. That voice you heard was my AI program, Say Hi ENI-O."

Said AI then greeted you which gave you a mental freak out all while keeping your cool. "You built your own AI program? Not much of a slacker i thought you were."

The two of you decided that an arcade would be a nice place to hangout. With ENI-O's fast driving, you both arrived in mere seconds. Gazing up at the neon lit sign, Tadano went in while you walked slowly behind still trying to process everything.

The smell of cheep food lingered in the air as teens wandered about playing games. Once Tadano came back he handed you a cup full of tokens and gave a genuine smile.

"How about a round of skeeball? I'm a bit rusty but it'll be fun!" With that, you and Tadano had a small friendly competition.

The rest of the night the two of you had lots of fun playing all sorts of games. Needless to say you were enjoying your time with Tadano.

And it didn't stop there, he offered to take you anywhere you wanted to go. Just you and him...together.

You couldn't deny the feelings you had for him and it was evidently clear Tadano felt the same way.

You decided to go back to the park to just walk around and talk to which he agreed.

As you stood on the bridge staring down at the beautiful koi fish that had gathered around, you gave a small sigh of happiness.

From there you could see the city lights glittering in the distance. Billboards and signs of every shape and size were easily able to see, making the mood even more perfect.

However one particular Billboard caught your interest.

A purple donkey holding an apple appeared with words next to it. Each image flashed quickly but you were able to read it.

"Freeride Inc.  Representative: Tadano"

You must've not noticed a large splash because when you looked down your bag of fish food was already sinking into the pond. 'Who exactly were you hanging out with?'

After some time, Tadano returned with a bag of his own, still with that calm smile. "Hey {nickname} i got another bag. Maybe this time the fish won't eat all of it haha."

His face shown that of concern when he saw you stare blankly into the water below. "You okay {nickname}?" 

"... You're the CEO of a multi billion dollar company aren't you?"

His expression basically said everything for him "well, you know...It's not like i was trying to keep it from you. I... I just didn't think it was the right time. Are you mad?"

You huffed out a breath of air while leaning on the bridge with your arms crossed. "If you're such an important person, why didn't you say anything? For all i thought, you were some slacker without a job."

"I.. wanted to show you I'm just like everyone else. Why did you think i wanted to learn to drive? Maybe someday I'll be the the one sitting in the drivers seat and not someone to do it for me." Tadano stood next to you as you both leaned on the bridge staring at nothing.

Peaceful silence wavered between the two of you. Occasionally you glanced at him as he just stared off with a blank expression. His eyes a lovely shade of indigo.

It wasn't until his gaze was broken when your voice came just above a soft tone. "Why would a successful guy like you want to hang out with a normal city girl like me?"

Your question had been answered when Tadano gently held your hand in his as he looked directly into your eyes, Smile and all.

"Because {nickname}, I see a future where we both can be happy."
