(Ruby's POV)
I'm not even sure how it happened – The night started out pretty normal, our patrons came in and seemed to be enjoying the night as it went on. I was given a hefty tip for simply eating a bowl of pineapple while barefoot. Not really my thing, but I won't bitch when cash is involved. It started around midnight, a few customers were at the bar. Suddenly another brick was thrown at the door, luckily whoever threw it had a shitty arm and the thing only made a loud thud against the new doors. Peri was about to go check but Mr. Lee came around the bar and opened the doors. The brick had one word on it – BURN- I'm pretty sure it was the same guys we've had trouble with, if only we could strike back. I'd like to use my new drill on some of those fuckers, but Mr. Lee would be against retaliation. After the brick incident it was another hour before we got the next wave. This time, it was smoke bombs. Our doors were opened and some moron threw in about 5 smoke bombs. As they rolled into the club some patrons started to leave, while others stayed but got under the tables. I ducked behind the bar at that point. The dragons in the club all seemed to be having a conversation with the wolves that protected the place. I figured they'd be going over a game plan at the least. It wasn't but 30 minutes after that when the first Molotov was tossed in. After that Mr. Lee locked the front doors and escorted the remaining patrons out the back exit. He wanted to make sure they were safe before confronting the problem... the problem was shouting profanities from the front, as well as making threats. We couldn't hear them, but Mr. Lee's friend seemed to be able to understand them clearly as he moved to the front of the club with his hands clenched into two tight fists. The wolves also seemed to hear it as they began to growl deeply under their breaths.. The rest of us, having human ears we couldn't hear a fucking thing but I'm pretty sure whatever was being said was pretty bad. Honestly I was getting more pissed, also I was mad at myself for not bringing my pretty new drill in. What the fuck was I thinking this morning? I really should have just kept it here...
Soon we heard yelling and loud thuds from the doors near the bar, suddenly five guys with really lame ass looking sun glasses came busting through the door. One man in the far back was thrown forward, knocking the five men down for a moment. Apparently these idiots charged Lee around the back exit. I just hoped he got all the patrons out before these dick-wads attacked. I shuddered as I watched Hoseok, Mr. Lee's friend launch himself at two of the five men who had finally stood up after being knocked down. The wolves stood back, but kept their eyes focused on the main double doors, since Mr. Lee and these goons came from the side doors that lead to the staff areas. I kept myself ducked down behind the bar, my hand clutching the small counter space just below the main bar counter. Tour and Citrine were with me, Peri was slowly crouch-walking his way over to us from near the kitchen in the back. Once he made it over to us, we kind of huddled together.
These were not just some group of thugs, these were demons who seemed hell bent on wrecking our club... our home. I really wanted to throw a few punches but, I'm only human... So I kept my little ass behind the bar where it was presumably more safe for the moment.
"We need to get back to the dressing room... my phone's there." Citrine whispered as low as she could. The two dragons were busy throwing punches and kicks at these five goons. If we waited till after the goons outside the main front doors busted in we might not get a chance with more eyes on us.
"If we're going to go... we've got to go now." I whispered back to them as low as I could, they nodded in unison. Now to figure out how to move without these idiots noticing us. I looked up over the bar, being the shortest out of all of us did have it's advantages. I managed to see Mr. Lee pushing the fight back into the club more, they were more now in front of the entrance. They were still a little too close though, but if the guys outside heard them then they'd most likely bust the fuck in and then we'd all be dead... maybe.
"We have no choice... we have to move now." I whispered to Citrine and Tour who looked at Peri and motioned for him to follow us. Slowly we crouch walked down below the bar till we were on the far side. We had to go this way through the double doors on the side near the front, trying to go out through the kitchen would have been the dumbest fucking idea ever. We would have to go all the way to the back of the club and try to get through those doors without being seen. Which, we would have been seen, especially since I was looking around the side of the bar and noticed Mr. Lee and his dragon friend had now moved over near the tables. One thug had a chair up over his head looking like he was going to throw it at Hoseok, but Mr. Lee punched the guy in front of him in the stomach and then kicked the guy with the chair in the back of the head with one of the most impressive high kicks I've ever seen. Not that I've witnessed a lot, but... some. Now was our chance. I waved my hand at the others behind me as I crouch-walked out and pushed the door closest to us open just wide enough to slip through. I moved as fast as I could to the side so the others could move through, Citrine moved behind me followed by Tour. Peri was the last through and he slowly let the door close behind him. I stood up and got on my tiptoes to look through the circular window in the doors. They were still fighting, but the wolves were now growling at the front doors. I figure it wouldn't be long now till the other thugs entered. Just as I bent back down to motion to the others to continue down the hallway we heard the crash of the front doors. Tour and Citrine clung to me and Peri slapped his hand over his mouth to hold in the scream that was threatening to come out. I glared at him and he slowly lowered his hand, giving me a nod to say he was fine. I stood again and looked through the window in the door again. There was more Molotov cocktails being thrown, the bar counter was on fire. The flames threatening to lick and ignite the bottles of alcohol we kept just under the bar counter. I counted about eight more men that had entered, the four wolves lunged at them without hesitation. There was one demon thug standing back, he looked familiar and after a moment of staring at him it clicked. I ducked back down and quickly shooed them along the hallway. We kept low and moved slower as we came to where the hall split. Citrine peeked out first and nodded back to us before she moved straight across the carpeted hall. We followed after her, hearing the grunts and yells of the demons, wolves and dragons in the club. Peri ushered us into the dressing room, swiftly closing the doors behind us as we all rushed for our phones. Peri's was near dead so he plugged it in carefully to charge. Citrine handed Peri her phone to call the police. I know it seemed weird to call the cops on a matter that was above human law but Mr. Lee always told us to do it if necessary. No creature wants to be discovered and every creature can hear sirens from a mile away so any creature committing a crime would stop in their tracks and get the fuck out of doge.
"Let's go back to the showers" Citrine whispered and waved for us to follow her. I grabbed my phone on the way into the door to the right of room. We had a decent sized locker room like area with Stall showers. For some reason it seemed like a good idea for the four of us to just huddle into one fucking shower stall and have Peri call the police. He kept his voice low, and made sure to call anonymously. He stayed on the phone while the rest of us just stood there huddled. Suddenly Tour coughed a bit, Peri was still giving information. I pulled the curtain open and noticed a thin wafting layer of smoke. Shit...
"Peri.. Peri look" I was whispering, tapping his arm to get his attention. He looked out of the shower.
"Shit... what? Oh, no I'm sorry... um there's smoke. Smoke as in fire. I think there's a fire there now." He said into the phone as quietly as he could. Tour looked from me to Citrine, I quickly pulled out my phone and did the only thing that felt right.
*Ring Ring*
No answer, I looked at Citrine with a sudden feeling of panic creeping up on me.
*Ring Ring*
"Sapph, ohmygod... thankyou for picking up I have no Idea what to do I'm whispering because there's guys here beating up and being beaten up and it's those thugs and there's fire and smoke and we're kind of trapped I think maybe we're not leaving the shower to find out. You should get down here police are on the way and I... I can't. Fire Sapph.... Fire..." I was beginning to feel suffocated. I couldn't breath... I felt Citrine pull me closer to her in a warm hug. She rubbed her hand along my shoulder while Tour took the phone from me.
"Sapphire... Hurry."
