For the next two months Aruna would visit Angel's hospital room daily while she stayed at Angel's apartment. She received a small pension to prevent Aruna from going to the media about being forced to resign because they didn't want her dating a Mexican and the company being dragged down by racial discrimination lawsuits that would ruin its reputation with other planets and more importantly other corporations within the galaxy. Today, Angel and Aruna arrived at his apartment after Angel was released with an order to take it easy. Angel was still stiff and walked with a limp. He walked to his couch to sit down. He was still in a little bit of pain as he can't stop wincing as he goes to a sitting position. "This is going to get some getting used." He said.

"Relax jaanam it's only a month." Aruna told him.

"I know but my wounds will sting for a month hermosa." Angel said to her.

They decided to sit on the couch and for 20 minutes all was silent and comfortable until a knock came at the door. Aruna got up and answered so Angel could stay seated. Behind the door was Juan and an older bald man in an Armani suit. "Hello Juan and ..." Aruna tried to greet them.

Juan realizing that the two haven't meet decided to awkwardly start introductions. "Oh Aruna this is Chief Saro Guzman."

Juan then turned to the police chief, "Chief this is Aruna Brahmin."

The chief and Aruna shook hands and she allowed the two into the apartment. "Angel we need to talk in private." The Chief ordered.

Angel looked concerned about a house call by his partner and boss. "Sure, Aruna can you give us some privacy please?" Angel asked Aruna.

Aruna nodded and walked out of the apartment. When the door closed Angel started speaking again. "I know this is not a social visit if you're here Chief." Angel stated.

      "It's not unfortunately." Juan confirmed.

"We are her to discusss the terms of your dismissal." The chief told him.

         "My dismissal?" Angel asked confused.

"After Reyez's capture internal affairs investigated the operation scene and determined that you were negligent in entering the penthouse and that you lead the unit to their deaths." Chief Guzman relayed to Angel.

"There was no leader after Fernandez was gun downed we were all playing it by ear." Angel argued.

"We understand that, but the operation was supposed to be a surprise operation but Ryez knew what was happening." Juan started explaining. "The higher ups in the city, state, and planetary government are scared the USS will start an administration intervention for the planet and three-fifths to three fourths of the police force in every city and state will be cut because they took at least one bribe."

"Why not let the USS do an intervention we need an intervention and the politician can point the finger at the USS if anything goes wrong and take the credit if everything goes well." Angel stated as though it was the most obvious thing.

Guzman laughed at that. "That's true but the political capital of those in power will still take a huge hit and the riots that will take place will affect businesses big and small, and the private and public property damage that would take place throughout the planet will also hurt the planets bottom line and reputation." Guzman told him.

Angel sighed knowing where this was going. Looking down, he rubbed his face. "Since I'm the one who entered the penthouse without backup the powers that be will turn me into the scapegoat in order to avoid political annihilation in the polls."
