The blood was thick, warm surrounding him, drowning him. Every shaky breath he took only filled his lungs with more fluid, the blood consuming him. His chest raised barely, the cold air doing nothing to relieve his pain or help him breathe. His eyes looked up into the blackness of the sky, the stars twinkled, the moon bright yet the silence was all he knew. Pain riddled his body, took over his senses, devoured him.

He lay there on the stone ground, no one with him. Alone as he slowly died, as his blood pooled out of him like a tap left on. But he didn't cry, no tears came as his body decayed before him. Though he wanted to, desperately wanted the tears to fall, they didn't.

He doesn't remember what happened, how he got here. Why he was dying in the middle of a deserted road alone. Why his blood was staining the cement under him. All he remembers was walking back home from a long shift at work, it was around midnight. He wasn't even supposed to be working today, it was a school day but his manager needed him to come in and he needed the money. He should've been at home, doing homework, having dinner with his mum, in his bed sleeping not lying in the road bleeding out because someone ran him over before choosing to drive off not even sparing him a thought. They didn't even stop, check if he was okay, call for help. Just left him on the side like road kill, like his life didn't matter.

Faint sound of footsteps echoed behind him, the pitter patter of their feet drummed with each step. He opens his blood coated lips, desperately trying to forms words that refused to come out. He couldn't speak, his lungs had no air, his throat clogged with his blood preventing any sounds.

A dark figure suddenly loomed over him, the footsteps having reached him. His eyes locked onto them, pleading, crying out to them for help. His mouth opens again only for blood to drip from his lips, falling down his chin. Gargled choking was the only sound he could make, nothing else could escape.

The figure gently kneels down, his cold finger brushed his skin, wiping up the blood which stained. Youngjae would've flinched at his touch if he had the energy, which he did not. They brought their blood soaked finger to their lips, sucking off his warm blood. A soft moan left their lips, Youngjae would've found it disturbing if he was in the right state of mind. But right now all he wanted was their help, was for them to take this pain away.

"You taste delicious. Your blood is as sweet as sugar, so addicting." They leant down, almost dominating over his weak figure.

Youngjae finally caught a glimpse of their appearance, their skin was a harsh white, eyes a deadly aqua blue. Hair a death like black, jawline sharp and threatening. He could distinguish through his dying brain that they were a man, good looking man at that.

The pale man traced his bony thumb over his lips, catching some of the blood that continues to escape. Youngjae didn't respond, react to his strange words or odd touching.

"Do you want to die? Die in the road like some dead animal Or?" His lips hovered over his skin, he could just feel his weak breath prickling his skin.

He lifted up slightly to catch Youngjae's eyes, noticing how they dilated. Youngjae was screaming through them help me, he didn't want to die on this pathetic street. The man could see the desperation, felt his cries of help.

"You want me to help you? I can make the pain go away, stop the bleeding." He leans back down, lips threatening to touch his skin.

"Would you like that? Should I help take away the pain." His words lingered through the air, his lips brushed over his neck as Youngjae's breathing shallows the closer he nears the depths of death.

Youngjae couldn't quite respond, his movements were lacking as well as his voice. So he simply lets out a gargled sound, coughing up spots of blood which kept filling his lungs. The man takes that as a yes, knowing exactly what the dying boy wants.

Without hesitation he stretched out his mouth, pearly white fangs draw from his teeth. Youngjae didn't register his teeth grazing his skin until a sharp pain pulsates from his neck. The man's ice cold hands wrap around his throat while he teeth sink further into his flesh.

Youngjae cries out silent screams, the man starts to suck at his wound. He could feel his warm blood leaving his body, being sucked into the man's mouth. He couldn't do anything to stop him, his body was paralysed both in pain and fear.

His vision blurs, the sky before him going hazy as the stars shine brighter and brighter. His minds starts to sink into the darkness, pain trapping his body. The man continues to bite at his neck, sucking what little life he had out. But Youngjae didn't protest, didn't scream as the pain began to subside. His body turning numb, eyes growing heavy. His lungs slowly stopped deflating and reinflating. His heart slowly stops beating, becoming still inside his chest. Eyes dilated before turning completely white, fading into a pastel like blue.

The man finally removed his sharp fangs from his flesh. His tongue licks around his blood smears lips, savouring the sweet taste. His eyes shone bright while they stared deep into Youngjae's. With the last moments of life, he hears the man's voice bounce between his ears.

"Welcome to the dead Choi Youngjae, you're going to be a lot of fun." His eyes closed, letting the peacefulness of sleep take him.

That is his story, this is how Choi Youngjae died and came back to life. He was murdered at seventeen years old, some drunk driver hitting him and leaving him to die. His family mourned his death, tears were shed as his lifeless body was left to rest. His mother cried until she couldn't no more, his sister no longer smiled, best friends stopped hanging by his locker. A hole was left when he died, a hole which would never be filled again.

But what his family didn't know, what the people he cared about the most didn't know was the grave he was buried in, the coffin his body laid in did not hold him. Though his heart no longer beats, his blood didn't pump through his veins, lungs didn't breath air. He was still very much alive, the peacefulness of death did not take him. It would never take him, for he could never fully die.

Choi Youngjae aged seventeen born September 17, 1996 died August 1st, 2013.

But he didn't, he didn't die that night. He became something else, became a creature of the night. He became a vampire, a blood sucking creature who could not die. The man who saved him, the man who turned him instead of letting him die came to his grave. Knowing full well inside that coffin was not a dead man but one that appeared so. He dug up his body, opening up the coffin to reveal a pale skinned, blue eyed boy whose eyes were glazed with fear.

"Hello Youngjae. Don't be afraid, you're safe now, I'm going to look after you."

From that day he never saw his family again, never saw his best friends or his school again. He was a vampire now, no one could know, no one could find out he wasn't dead. He had a new home, a new home with a vampire called Jaebum.
