The tension wore strong in the room, thick and heavy in its mist. Jaebum's heeled velvety shoes braces against the expensive tiled floor. His eyes glistened a deadly black, a sign of the devil from how frightening it was. Jinyoung sat crossed legged on the mantle sofa, calm like a tranquil buddha. Jackson's fang teared down on the tenderness of his flesh, biting down on his thumb nails out of nervousness. Mark hasn't spoken, uttered a word since Jaebum gathered them all there.
They all were aware it wasn't a good sign, not with the way Jaebum was pacing or the darkness in those glass eyes of his.
Youngjae didn't quite know nor understand entirely what was going on. All he had heard was distant voices in his head, faint and barely audible. He could have completely miss heard, been wrong in what he thought had passed through his mind.
"This isn't good. They know we are here, they know where we live. We're going to have to move, lay low for awhile or god knows what the hunters have installed for us." Jaebum abruptly stopped his continuous pacing, black eyes darting to the vampires seated.
"That's insane! We are not moving because Youngjae thought he heard something when he was practicing to read minds. He's only just beginning to learn, it's unlikely he could have heard from such a distance away." Jinyoung immediately shut down the idea, they were not moving again not when they had finally found somewhere they could actually call home.
Jaebum growls almost animalistically, deadly fangs glaring threateningly.
"I am not going to take that risk Jinyoung, not this time around. We'll find somewhere new, somewhere better." Jaebum never was much for sentiment, a house was ultimately to him was just a house.
"This is better Jaebum. We have a life here. Jackson and I have good jobs here, Youngjae goes to school here. We can't just leave that all behind, not again I'm not doing it." Mark broke his silence, sick of running, sick of hiding because all he wanted is to live a normal life.
None of the young vampires saw the danger or threat which bared down upon them. Hunters were trained, skilful vampires slayers born and breed to hunt down their kind and kill them. They will stop at nothing until every last one of them was wiped from this god green earth. Burnt to the stake if they were lucky.
Jaebum knew all this first hand, saw the brutality, cruelty they were capable of. Far worse than any vampire could ever commit. They were the true monsters, the real villains in this world of pain and death.
Hunters killed for pleasure, for game, for themselves not for the greeter good or any real reason. It wasn't to safe humanity, not really. Some of the kindest, most humane vampires Jaebum had ever had the pure pleasure to meet were slay by the beastly humans.
It sickened him, right to his rotting, decaying core. A pathetic excuse to take another's life-a vampire therefore equaled monster.
Not all of them were blood thirsting animals hell bent on killing anything with a pulse. Only those selfish enough or already animals did that. Jaebum has been a monster, he never denied that. He will hold that shame and guilt for the monstrosities he commuted for the rest of his immortal life.
But it didn't mean he deserved to be punished, be hunted and killed. He's trying to be a better man, repent and redeem his soul from the devil.
"We are moving, we have too. I'm not risking our safety because you don't want to leave this house. We'll find a new one, you'll get new jobs. We have to go somewhere that is safe, where the hunters can't find us." Jaebum hated that he is choosing the cowards way out, running away with his tail between his legs.
"They will find us no matter what! They always do Jaebum, you know that. It doesn't matter where we go, they'll get us. Why can't we stay here and fight? It is the only way to win, to finally be safe." Mark no longe Thad the strength to keep running, keep up rotting themselves creating new lives for themselves over and over again.
He wanted to stay somewhere long enough he could actually grow to call home. He hadn't been able to call anything home in years, in an entire life time. This place was just becoming that, a home and he wasn't going to lose it on some over reaction on Jaebum's part.
Jaebum tangoes his slender, icy fingers through his death coloured hair. His long cotton woven coat slung around gently, hanging closely to the floor.
"Please Jaebum, I don't want to move. I like it here, I'm just starting to feel normal again. I can't move, not when I'm getting my life back again." Youngjae couldn't cope with another drastic change in his life, dying and waking up as a vampire had been hard enough to cope with.
His life seemed no longer his, a hard adjustment he struggled to accept. Leaving everything he knows and loves in favour of a life he could never end sounded both daunting and dreamy. But the truth was he was terrified every second of the day. His own thirst of blood unmanageable, he never knew when the cravings could come and when they did they were brutal with their pain.
Life slowly began to make sense, going to school, making friends having a life was helping. Calm him, tame him but he knew if they left and he had to start a knew he'd struggle to keep his writhing monster at bay.
"Okay, fine. Fine. We won't move, at least not yet until I figure out who or what we're exactly dealing with. We need to find out who the hunters are and what their game is here. Are there more of them? What they plan on doing. If worse comes, we will fight but if we lose, I can't promise we'll survive. But I'll god damn try to protect us at any cost no matter how big. I promise." Jaebum had to prepare himself for a fight, for he knew hunters didn't give up easily only time they did was in death.
