"Where are we going?" I repeated the question slowly, fidgeting with my hands.
I was sitting in the backseat of a black car, in between two of the girls.
L, (which is just the name I decided I'd refer to her as) glanced at me from the review mirror, giving me a warning look.
Since my little stunt in the gas station, she was no longer wearing her ski mask like the rest of the girls. I took this opportunity to really get a good look at her, memorizing her features and storing it in my brain, ready to be able to identity her if needed.
She was beautiful.
She shook her head, glaring at me again. "Shh, don't worry about it." She said.
Her words had the opposite effect, and my stomach turned anxiously wondering what was going to happen to me.
I wondered if they were going to hurt me, but they were barely restraining me, and for some reason I didn't think they would.
"Whats you're name?" The kind short girl sitting next to me asked, touching my shoulder lightly.
She made me relax, and although she was still wearing her black mask, I felt way more comfortable with her then with L.
"Hannah," I said after a minute, deciding I wasn't going to tell these strangers my real name.
"I'm Ally," She said kindly.
After a view moments, one of the girls that was sitting in the passenger seat turned to face me. I had noticed the whole ride she was focused on her phone, and now she was facing me.
"Camila Cabello," She said, causing me to perk up.
L glanced at me again, raising an eyebrow.
"Wh-what?" I stuttered, shocked that the girl had said my name.
"Camila Cabello, 17 years old. Parents Sinu and Alejandro Cabello, little sister Sofie Cabello. You're family lives at 417 Johnson Lane, but you,
you Camila are a college girl. How exciting," She smirked at me, as my mouth dropped open.
"Nice work Dinah," L said, patting "Dinah" on the shoulder.
Dinah waited for my reaction.
"How, how did you know that?" I chocked out, anxiously running my fingers through my hair.
L, who was driving, abruptly pulled the car over.
"Camila, we don't like liars. Do you know who you're dealing with here?" L interrupted, angrily staring at me.
I muttered an apology under my breath, and overwhelmed, began to let the tears I had been holding back, fall.
L just frowned, and turned back around to continue driving again.
"Just so you know, it's easy for me to find things out. Which is what I just did, I found you out. We know who your family is, where they live, and don't think for a second we won't use that to our advantage. You got that, if you don't cooperate with us, it won't be pretty." Dinah continued, harshly.
I just nodded, shakily.
"Can we take these ridiculous things off, I'm gonna get a freaking heat flash." The girl next to me complained, counting the money that was in the bag.
"Knock yourself out, she's not gonna tell, are you Camilla?" L said, winking at me.
"Camila," I corrected her, fighting the urge to roll my eyes.
"Yeah whatever, Normani, if you wanna take the fucking mask off, take it off."
The quiet girl, who I now know is Normani, sighed contently and took her mask off. Her face was flushed, but regardless of that she was pretty, and she tossed the ski mask at Dinah's head, laughing.
Dinah laughed at first, but when L glanced at her, she immediately dropped her smile.
"Mani, we're criminals for God sake's don't just throw things at me like some kind of school girl." She scolded, glancing at L.
L smiled shyly, tapping her fingers against the wheel.
"Damn, DJ. Alright." Normani continued to count the money, right in front of me.
Was this some kind of sick joke,
that money paid my bills, and here she was counting it in front of me.
We finally pulled in in front of a small blue house. It was so tiny, and it looked to be in a really poor neighborhood.
"Take off your masks girls." L said, turning to face us all.
The girls all did, and I glanced around at all of them.
They were all so unbelievably beautiful, so much that I felt my cheeks turn red and I felt a little self conscious.
"Camila, we are gonna go in that house, and every things gonna be normal, you fucking speak and I swear to God I'll -"
"Okay!" I cut her off, putting my hands up in defense, "I won't say a word."
The girls let me out, and Dinah, who towered over me, grabbed my arm tightly as we walked towards the house.
Lauren pulled out a key from her pocket, and opened up the door.
We walked in, and all the lights were off except for a small lamp. I glanced around the small house, there was a tiny kitchen with cheap appliances, and a small couch with a tiny tv.
Sleeping on the couch was the body of a little boy, huddled under a blanket.
Lauren glanced at him, her face dropping.
Hearing us entering, the little boy sleepily popped his head up, glancing at us. He was bald, and tiny, he looked as fragile as a baby.
"Hi Laur," He said sleepily, rubbing his eyes, "You're home."
L smiled lightly, walking over to the boy. "Yeah little man, I'm home. Why aren't you in bed?" She stroked his head lightly.
I felt my heart melt watching the scene unfold in front of me.
"I feel asleep on the couch waiting for you, how was work?" He tried to sit up, propping his body up on his elbows.
She leaned down and kissed his forehead, "Work was good, baby. I made lots of money. It'll be okay." She smiled and picked the boy up in her arms.
Once she realized we were all still standing there, watching, she cleared her throat. "I'll just be a minute." She walked down a small hallway with the boy, and returned minutes later, now empty handed.
When she returned, her whole demeanor changed. She was all business.
"Camila, why don't we sit down" L said coldly, sitting down on the couch.
This was so weird, I was so confused.
I took a seat on the small couch.
"Camila, as you could probably see we aren't you're average teens." Dinah and Normani walked back from the kitchen and plopped on the couch laughing at that statement, holding a bottle of vodka.
"Amen," Dinah said laughing, taking a swing of the vodka.
"We're criminals." She smirked, looking me straight in the eyes.
"And I - we " She corrected herself, "would love for you to join us."
I sat there, chewing on my lip nervously, deciding what I would say. Eventually I decided -
