Chapter 8- Parcel and coffee?

Author: First of all Thank you so much guys for voting and reading my story. I didn't expect 169 reads on my first attempt. I am really grateful to the readers for actually motivating me and continue this story. And this chapter will be short but don't worry updation will be soon enough .

" The sky looks beautiful for sure"

I wasn't startle to hear his husky voice so I replied " indeed it is"

"But don't you think it's dangerous for an idol like you to be in public without those crappy black masks?" I asked as a matter of fact.

"It's almost midnight and I don't think anyone would recognise me in this darkness." He said with his eyes staring deep towards the sky.

The way his chest rose and fall..it was clear a lot was going in his mind but then I realised I have to leave. Tomorrow morning I have an urgent meeting with the board members.....and this one is real ofcourse and not one of Mr Kim's "not so funny jokes" .

Indeed I wasn't reluctant to leave so suddenly but then.....

"Excuse me Mr Jeon...I have to leave, it's quite late and I want to thank you for being the savior of this night. I will always be grateful to you for this favour" I gently bowed with due respect and almost turned on my heels to leave the banquet....until I felt his slender fingers wrapped on my right wrist.

"I guess you didn't hold me back after the dance for no reason....right?"

He trailed off with his speech while looking towards the sky but his grip didn't dare to loose.

I was embarrassed in clear words. I myself have no idea why did I hold him back....? Why did I?

I snapped from the momentary thoughts ..."I ....actually wanted to thank you ...that's all." As I murmured the last few words I realised I wasn't even looking at his direction...my eyes were staring down .....utterly embarrassed.

"Is that it?"

Ofcourse....his questioning tone was mingled with amusement on hearing my 'not so convincing reply'.

"Umm..yeah it is."

I couldn't bear the embarrassment anymore so I ran down the hall towards my car. I was sure that I noticed an amused smile on his face and the reason was my ......flushed tomato cheeks.

As I entered the car my heated face was already covered by my small palms.

How could I? And I have no excuse for my actions.....

I hope I don't cross paths with him again.

Huh....I don't think  a microbiologist and an idol can ever have any circumstance to cross paths again. I should forget about it.

Without wasting any time I drove back to my mansion only to be welcomed by Popo.

"Huh?!"

"Yes ma'am....a courier guy left this on your table"

I couldn't take in the new information.
I was still staring at the unusual parcel which was kept with the huge bouquet which was currently on my table.

As soon as my assistant left I shuffled myself towards the parcel and started tearing off the wrapper.....

Soon my questioning look was changed into one of bewilderment.

I noticed a small folded piece of letter beside the familiar piece of jewelry.

'I know this is very sudden and you might be surprised...but I had no option but to send it like this. If I personally come....the whole paparazzi might break open into this office which you definitely don't want to happen. And as for that chain....when you ran off from the banquet to hide your crimson cheeks .....you left it there. So I wanted to return you.

And.....don't forget you owe me so I would now demand something in return..... Coffee? With me? '

I knitted my brows .....now I could put all the pieces of the distorted puzzle. I was deliberately searching for this in the whole house but it ended up there.

I sighed as I took the shiny piece of my anklet and fiddled with it. .... It was my mom's. I still wear this pair even after all this years. I was very sad when I lost one of its pair....

Now that I got it.....

....I really owe you Jeon Jungkook.

Coffee...? ...sure why not...I didn't know that I was smiling the whole time.

What are you making me do?

We didn't even met more than once....or may be twice....

I chuckled lightly while shaking my head as my thoughts trailed off to the incident of airport.

" Stupid...."
I smiled and folded back the paper in the parcel. The mesmerizing smell of the lily flowers had already filled my cabin.....

I am looking forward to have a coffee with you....
