"Let all cats old enough to catch there own prey gather beneath the Sunrock," Branchstar yowled. Moonkit scampered out of the nursery. Usually she couldn't come out to watch clan meetings but today was a special day.

Moonkit and her brother, Reedkit, sat together at the back of the group of cats. Snowdrop sat next to them with Cloudkit and Bluekit on the other side of her.

"Briarpaw, please step forward," Branchstar meowed from the Sunrock. Moonkit strained to see the brown and white she-cat pad up to the Sunclan leader.

Branchstar raised his head to the sky, "I, Branchstar, leader of Sunclan call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code and I commend her as warrior in her turn." He looked down at Briarpaw, "Briarpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect your clan even at the cost of your own life?"

The she-cat nodded, "I do."

Branchstar nodded, "Then by the power of Starclan I give you your warrior name. Briarpaw you will now be known as Briarwing. Starclan honors your strength and loyalty and we welcome you as a full warrior of Sunclan."

Branchstar touched his nose to her head as she liked his shoulder. Moonkit joined in with the clan in yelling, "Briarwing! Briarwing!"

The brown and white she-cat puffed her chest out with pride. Moonkit longed to be an apprentice but she still had two more moons until that happened.

As the cats began to separate Moonkit snuck into the medicine den. Ivyleaf was applying herbs to Lionpaw's paw when Moonkit walked in. "What happened?" she asked curiously.

Ivyleaf jumped at the sound of her voice but answered steadily, "Lionpaw stepped on a thorn so when I took it out I need to put herbs on it so the wound won't get infected."

Moonkit looked at the medicine cats herb store. "Can I help with anything?" she mewed. Ivyleaf shook her head, "Not until your an apprentice."

Moonkit grumbled but didn't say anything. She stomped out of the den and saw her littermates playing moss ball outside if the nursery. Moonkit sat down beside Snowdrop to watch them play with each other.

"Go play," her mother meowed. Moonkit shook her head. She just didn't like to play. "Why don't you like to play with them?" Snowdrop meowed. "I don't like moss ball," she mewed.

Snowdrop rolled her eyes, "You have never even played it before." Moonkit looked down at her paws. She really hadn't ever played moss ball before.

She sighed and got to her tiny paws. Moonkit padded over to where her littermates were playing with the soft ball of moss.

Reedkit stopped in mid leap as Moonkit padded over. "Can I please play moss ball with you all?" she meowed.

Reedkit's eyes widened at her statement. Cloudkit scowled, "We just finished our game of moss ball." Bluekit shoved Cloudkit lightly, "Can we play battle?" Reedkit nodded in agreement.

Cloudkit glared at Moonkit, "Moonkit won't be able to play. She can't fight at all." Moonkit held her head up, "I can do whatever you can."

Cloudkit smirked and stood beside Bluekit, "I'm Cloudstar leader of Sunclan and Bluekit is my deputy. Moonkit and Reedkit are Cloudclan."

Reedkit bounced over to his sister who was looking nervous. "Don't worry I'm sure Cloudkit will go easy on you," the black kit meowed.

Moonkit crouched beside Reedkit as they faced her two other littermates who were growling fiercly. "I declare war on Cloudclan!! Sunclan, attack!!" the white kit yowled loudly.

Moonkit bunched her legs under her and leaped. She squealed in alarm at how powerful her leap was. She fell flat on her face in the dirt. She felt weight on her back as she was flipped over and pinned down by Cloudkit.

Her brother had a triumphant look in his green eyes, "I knew you couldn't handle it."

Suddenly something flowed through her. It was something oddly refreshing and it gave her new power. Then she heard a whisper in her ear, push him off of you with your hind legs and then pin him to the ground.

Moonkit did as the voice said and put her paws on his belly and flung her brother into the air. Cloudkit yelped in alarm. Then Moonkit ran over go him and pinned him down.

Cloudkit was looking up at her with a mix of shock and amazement. Moonkit looked up from where she was pinning him down. She shrunk back as she saw most of the clan giving her a shocked look.

She was so confused and scared she darted into the nursery. Why was every cat looking at her like she had just done something amazing? She wondered.

The gray and white kit buried her head in her paws. She thought to herself with confusion, Who was speaking to me when I was pinned down, because I know it wasn't any of my clanmates. Then who was it?
