Silver Linings is my first baby. I say so because it was the first literary piece I had written and completed. With it, I began my writing journey and sought to explore other forms of literature.
I find literature beautiful, and when I express my faith through it, it becomes the most beautiful thing on earth to me. It's magical and something I feel that cannot be talked enough of.
When I wrote the first draft of Silver Linings four years ago, I was an inexperienced writer trying to figure out her way through the vast world of literature, little wonder why it was ridden with so many mistakes. I must tell you that most times when I went back to read it, I still cringe at the poor grammar, shallow descriptions, bland dialogues and the badly developed characters.
Today, I am sharing this second draft with you, which I believe has been written to the best of my knowledge. Writing is an everyday art so I can't guarantee you that this one will be flawless too but I do guarantee that it is better than the first.
My desire for you as you read this book is not only for you to be entertained. Of course you will be. My desire is that you come to the knowledge of Jesus and experience Him in ways you have not as you read this book.
In this book, I have poured my faith, hope, memories, emotions of all sorts and see it come to life in my mind as I read it and I hope you will too.
I hope you experience joy for your sadness, relief for your pain and laughter for your tears when you read this book because that is my essence of writing –or living if I must say. I am called to write about hope.
I hope that days, weeks, months or years after reading this book that you would say it was one of the things that made you hope and keep your faith alive.
I hope that you will not get tired of reading this book as you have started.
Thank you and have an enjoyable read.
