Their orders were simple and straight to the point, guide a spirit to the other side. Not unordinary, it was after all their job. No fuss was made as they entered into the mortal world, undetected and unseen like always. They were to see who the person was and figure out a plan to guide them. The group of seven stood on the rooftop of a building, looking out onto the street  to listen for the chime of fate. The chime summoning them to see who they'd be guiding.

Movement from a window across the street caught the youngest's eye. He watched as a little girl stared down at the other children from her window. The faint whisper calling out to him as he watched her. The more he watched her the more he knew, her name, her age, and why fate had written for her to die.

He glanced to the side at his brothers, each of them watching the humans down below. Just as he was about to tell them, the chime called out once more. Their heads lift to look at him, following his gaze as he looked back at the window.

"Shin Allie" one mumbled out as he watched her pick up the snowglobe that sat on the windowsill.

"Age seven" another sighed as he looked away.

"Fates marked her at such a young age, why?" the second youngest questioned as he looked at the eldest.

"Fates marked younger and you know that" he breathed out as he watched the girl play with the globe, shaking it lightly.

"We've never guided anyone her age, we've never guided anyone younger than the age of twenty and you know that" the youngest said as he glanced to the leader "What are we going to do?"

"I don't think I can do this" one mumbled as he stepped away from the ledge "It's unfair that fate marked someone that young"

"This is our job Jackson. We get it done, no feelings attached and no feelings of remorse. We took an oath" the leader sighed out as he sat on the ledge, studying the girl as she fought against her sleep.

"Jaebum, you know we've never escorted someone as young as her" the youngest argued as he watched the girl lay back.

"I know Yugyeom, you don't have to remind me but like I said...We took an oath." Jaebum sighed as he ran his hand through his hair.

"We may have taken an oath but she's still young. I'm not comfortable with this JB. Let's go back and tell them to send someone else" another sighed as he set his hand on the leader's shoulder.

The chime calls once more as the leader thought. His attention turned to the little girl as she shivers slightly, pulling her comforter around herself. Her sleep slowly took over as her eyelids drooped. Each of them looked at each other before looking down.

"Look at her, she's sick and has been for awhile" Jaebum sighed "You guys see it too, fate marked her for that exact reason"

"We don't agree with guiding her but JB has a point. We took an oath, plus she's suffering on the inside." one sighed as he stepped next to the leader "I don't agree with this either but I'm not going to sit here and watch that little girl suffer"

They all stood silently, letting the words sink in. Their gazes cast on the little girl as she snuggled into the comforter. Each of them knowing it was time, they couldn't put it off much longer. Each of them nodding before looking at their leader.

"She's young, we make it smooth and painless. We let her come to us" he sighed out as he watched her eyes closed "She doesn't need to know what's happening"

Each of them nodded as they watched their leader disappear from the building. Their plan was fresh in his mind as he reappeared at the foot of the little girls bed. Glancing at her before moving soundlessly through her room. Her toys lay in one corner of her room, a shelf lined with books and a picture frame just above her desk. His fingers trailing over the spines of the books.
