Identity Paradox ~ V-Hope

Chapter 2

Taehyung walks into the kitchen and grabs an apple out of the fridge before leaving for school. As he turns away from the fridge he hears his mother let out an obnoxiously loud sigh.

" Sweetheart, must you wear something so tight? You promised us that you would keep a low profile, that means NOT drawing everyone's eyes to your backside!"  

Tae has to hold in the intense urge to roll his eyes at her.

" I know mum! But it's my first day. I'm already going to have everyone's attention, and if I go looking like some ' Country Bumkin' I will probably hold their attention for a lot longer"

Tae's mum opens her mouth, probably to refute what her son was saying, but before she can say anything he beats her to it. 

" You know what Alpha's are like mum. I already have an oddly sweet scent for an Alpha, and if I show up looking weak there are bound to be more than a few idiots who will try to bully or fight me to assert their dominance or boost their fragile ego's. And we don't want that now do we?"

He doesn't say it, but he can tell that she knows. That they both understand just how big of a risk it would be, because no one can say for sure how Taehyung's wolf would react to that kind of interaction with an Alpha. 

Tae's mum hesitates, before letting another sigh, softer this time.

" Very well. Just promise me that you will behave yourself, keep quiet and don't draw anymore attention to yourself than this."  She gestures to his outfit. " Your father spoke to the Pack Alpha before he left on his trip. And Alpha Kim assures us that he has not shared our secret with anyone."

She stops talking for a second and looks up at her son with sad eyes. 

" You know Tae, your father and I were hesitant to have you back here with us, in the pack, but Alpha Kim promised us that you would be safe. He said that if there is ever anything that you need or if you just need someone to talk to, you are welcome to contact him. You can trust him Tae, I promise."

Taehyung and his mum just look each other in the eyes for what feels like a long time. His mother trying to show her sincerity through her eyes. While Tae tries not to feel hurt that his mother admitted to not wanting him back. Taehyung looks away first, breaking eye contact. He looks at the clock on the wall and feels a slight panic. 

" Shoot! I have to go or I'm really going to be late. Bye mum, see you after school."

" Bye Honey. Be safe. Remember to keep your head down and . . ."

Tae cuts her off before she can continue. 

" I know mum. Relax! It's not like I have ' I'M A FREAK' tattooed across my forehead." 

With that Taehyung turns and leaves the house. Ignoring the disapproving and possibly angry glare he can feel aimed at his back.
