Mando, Gringsnaket and Panko approached Mount Lin, the wind swirling about. As they came up on the mountain, they felt the chaos of the mountain enveloping around them. Gringy felt Panko shiver behind him.
"This is it!" Mando shouted. Come to think of it, anytime Mando spoke he kind of had a tendancy to draw out his words and not use contractions. He sounded like a nerd. Or like that dog from Up! Yeah just imagine a big ice dragon with the dog from Up's voice.
There was a large volcano, but that wasn't even the impressive part. A massive spired castle sat built into the mountain. They landed at the bottom of the fortress in a foresty area. Panko and Gringsnaket dismounted and looked over at the entrance of the fortress. Six guards stood outside the entrance... well, guarding the door to get inside. But the guards weren't dragons, they were some race of huge burley forest troll people, resembling Gringy's own family a little bit. While they were all clearly members of the same species, they all looked slightly different. One of them had four giant meaty arms as opposed to the others having two. Another had three heads. And they all had a unique number of eyes, one had six, one had two, one had eight. The one with three heads seemed to have four eyes on each head, for a grand total (if you're no good at math) of twelve. No wait- fourteen. Wait hold on... okay
So one head has four eyes, and there are three heads, so that makes.. Yeah twelve. Why did I say fourteen?
"How are we gonna get in? There are guards all over the place!" Said Gringy. "We'll have to take a few of them out, with all of those eyes, there's gotta be at least fifty, there's no way we'll be able to sneak past them."
"Well if you consider their apparent bone structure, by turning their heads in the same direction we may be able to divert their attention elsewhere for just the amount of time we need to get past," Mando suggested.
"Well, that may be true but even so with fifty eyes what are the odds of one of them catching us? One eye will do it, those aren't good odds," Gringy added.
"Alright well let us think then," said Mando, sitting down. "If you think about his field of vision being a sector of a circle, and we can assume it's going to be around 170 degrees of solid vision, then-"
"What about peripheral vision? That's about 20 degrees more, of course the quality of those 20 degrees aren't great," said Gringsnaket.
"Okay then, so we shall assume the worst possible scenario, and say that they are field of vision is 190 degrees, what are the odds of one catching us?"
"I say we set up a proportional ratio of the odds of one catching us with one eye and then multiply it by fifty-"
Suddenly, two of the six guards standing outside fell over, and when the others ran over to them, they were all hit by a huge boulder."What the hell?" Gringy whispered to himself, and then he looked over his shoulder. Panko was standing behind a tree with three stones in his arms, peeking out at the guards.
"Panko did you hit them with those rocks?" Asked Gringy.
"I picked it up back in Dalesbrad, every year, we have this stone throwing contest to see who can knock over the most bottles. I got pretty good at it," Panko replied. Mando and Gringy exchanged looks.
"Yes, I suppose you are not bad at it," said Mando with a blank expression. I guess he's a dragon, so it's tough enough as it is to read his face, but it was especially difficult now.
"Mando, what were those things guarding the door?" Panko asked.
"An experimental race of troll-golbin hybrids."
That's right, he said Golbins. Not Goblins. These creatures have always been called golbins, and it was due to error in the Earthen fourteenth century that the l and the b were reversed. But they are in fact called golbins.

"Hey watch it!" Exclaimed Gringsnaket, slapping Mando on the arm (which of course didn't do anything, as his skin was covered in scales). "My mom was a troll!"They left their spot in the forest and walked up to the door. Once they were inside, they found that it was very dark, in fact it was quite difficult to see around them. They continued inside, however, as they didn't really have much of a choice to go anywhere else. Additionally, they needed to hurry, as they weren't sure how long it would be before the guards were discovered outside to be unconscious. Or dead. Wait did he kill them? I imagine it's gotta be hard to kill someone with a rock, but maybe a boulder. It could be that their bones were crushed thereby stabbing their lungs. Or maybe they're just fine after all! Who's to say for sure. Either way they're not really a problem at the moment.
