Chapter 1

Maria Clara Aragon del Fiero's POV

*ringggggg*

Nagising ako sa tunog ng cellphone ko. Someone's calling. Agad kong kinapa ang cellphone ko sa side table, at tinanggal ko ang eyemask ko.

OMG! Nico is calling...

Agad-agad ko itong sinagot.

"Good Morning, babeeee!" Bati ko sa kaniya.

[I've been calling you since 5 in the morning there. Did you just wake up, babe?] Patay ako neto hmm...Sinabihan niya kasi ako na gumising ng 5 am kasi nga may pasok pa ako.

I checked my clock and damn it's already 6:05 in the morning.

"Babe, I'm sorry....Heto naman I love you!" Paglalambing ko sa kaniya.

"You know how much time is important in the business world, right? You are graduating, babe...sooner or later you'll be joining your brothers to manage the Dragon Corporation...and once we get married, we'll be leading and managing the entire G group. Paalala niya sa akin.

"I know, Nico...You have nothing to worry about. I'll make sure that I'll graduate with flying colors, and I'll get the Fillion Leadership Award." Sabi ko sa kaniya.

"That's my girl. Just make sure of that, Clara. Always aim to be on top, and always make sure that the power is in your hands." He reminded me.

Power is his life, and  his reputation and family name are its oxygen. How I wish I could be powerful, and be cunning as him...I am just a simple girl who wants to change and to transform this world into a much better place, but as he told me..It's impossible, without power...Is love not enough to do good things? I'm actually confuse.

"I will...We will..." I said to him.

[Great! I'll be there in two months...I miss you so bad, babe. ]He said, and that made me smile. He's having his Master's at Columbian University in New York. So, we are in a long distance relationship as of the moment...but after two months, we'll be together again.

It's difficult to be away from him, but this is for our future. Like what they say, Sacrifice is one of the basic requirements of success.

"I miss you too...I'm so excited to see you again...In two months, I'll be graduating na rin..." sabi ko sa kaniya.

I am taking up BA Management major in Industrial Management at Fillion University. This university school is an exclusive school for those elites. Mga anak ng malalaking businessmen at politicians ang nag-aaral dito. This is where I met Nico. He's the unico hijo of the Gonzales who owns the biggest oil and mining company in the world that made them the number 3 richest family in the world, and number 1 in Asia. Well, hindi rin naman nalalayo doon ang pamilya ko, our family is the 3rd richest family in the whole Asia and number 2 here in the Philippines second kanila Nico. Our family is not only known in business industry but also in Politics. My great grandfather was a former President, and my father is planning to run this upcoming election.

Our family has been friends for years....

[I'm so proud of you. I hope I can make it to your graduation day.]sabi niya.

"I hope so..." I told him.

[Okay, Clara. It's already 6:25 am there in the Philippines. Get up now, and prepare for school...You still have 8 am class...] Paalala niya sa akin.

"Yes, babe. I love you."malambing na sabi ko.

[I love you too...Sige, may tatapusin pa ako.] He ended the call.

Bumangon na ako mula sa Queen size bed ko at nag-unat unat nang kaunti. Dumiretso ako sa shower room ng kwarto ko.

Hinubad ko na ang pajamas ko at binuksan ang shower.
