"We are nearing the rendezvous point, Roland." Aaron announces into a speaking headset adorning the right side of his chiseled face, holding onto Garroth's driver seat head as his eyes narrow in on the train track bridge. Garroth then pulls to the Caravan to a drifting halt, snow of the Tundra dispersing at this motion.
"We're in position, over." Aaron says before exiting the cockpit to the armory room of the moving contraption. Him, Garroth, and Laurence suiting up for the heist to come.
"Hey, man." Laurence greets his boss, midway through keying in his personal passcode to access his stash of ammunition. "How are you holding up? You know, with Aphmau coming back from dead like a motherfucking zombie?"
Aaron, despite the recent conversation with his "wife", manages a smile for his friend. "You were watching through the surveillance cameras, weren't you?"
"I am the guardian angel, after all I see everything." Laurence's wry grin then fades into a frown. "But seriously dude...are you okay?"
"I don't know, man. I don't know whether to be happy Aphmau is back, or wary if it is indeed the same Aphmau that came back." Aaron finishes up his ensemble by slinging his prized shotgun over his shoulder, Laurence doing the same with his sniper rifle.
"Women." Laurence shakes his head knowingly, thinking of his own.
"Women." Aaron repeats as the three of them disband to their positions, Laurence climbing up a metal ladder which brings him to the roof of the Caravan, perching himself at this sniping point, speaking into his communication device that he was in position.
Garroth returns back to his usual scene, the cockpit, flipping switches and buttons with such good coordination, it was like second nature to the stocky blonde.
Aaron exits out of the caravan's lowest floor, feeling the sudden power of the wind pursuing its way into his combat gear, stimulating a shiver and a wrinkle-creating squint from the 6'2 man of muscle. He finds Travis and Lucinda both amidst in the arctic-like climate, staring down the train track which bridged the gap between two cliff faces, leaving the commuter rail vulnerable.
Aaron crouches down low as he treks toward the magical duo, persevering against the forceful wind.
Travis angles his vision back, hearing the crunching footsteps in the snow from behind him, smiling at his arrival. "Ah Aaron, care to join us on this lovely evening?"
"Is the shipment near?" Aaron shouts over the screeching breeze, clearly not in the mood to indulge in Travis's witty banter.
Lucinda flicks her wrist to activate her watch, emitting a hologram of '6:35', which flickers in the mediocre snowstorm. "Should be here any moment."
The three stand in almost complete silence, the only sound the whipping gusts of the Tundra. So of course, Travis had to say something.
"So, just out of pure curiosity..." Travis yells, his shocked-white tufts of hair flowing according to the climate. "How is it going with Aphmau, Aaron?"
"You know man, it's complicated. So much has happened since we saw each other last that I'm not even sure she is the same person anymore." Aaron recites his earlier response from before with Laurence, expecting a similar response but is surprised by Lucinda's contribution to the conversation.
"Exactly, Aaron. So much has happened in the past few months...so much you don't know. Have you even really talked about what happened to her?"
Aaron furrows his brow, trying to make out Lucinda's body language throw the storm. "I understand she lost an arm--"
"Ever consider the possibility that that's not the only thing she lost." Lucinda retorts, leaving Aaron momentarily wide-eyed and speechless, as Roland's voice pipes in from Lucinda's headset. "Shipment is en route to your location, prepare to execute."
Lucinda leaves the two men standing idly as she trudges forward, scarlet light gathering at her fingertips.
Travis and Aaron exchange a glance, Travis cracking a smile as he follows suit, but not before saying: "Women."
"Women."
I am a woman, by the way. I just understand how us woman can generally be hard to read, and most men are just left scratching their heads.
Have a nice day my crystals!
