Chapter 18 + Recap

Recap of Last Chapter: Choni decided to meet at Pops to sort out the problems they were having and thankfully, they did. Last chapter was basically only about their conversation and they agreed to have a sleepover at Toni's, which is where we will pick up from.

No One's POV

"Agh! Stop!" Cheryl yelled as she once again tried to duck the handful of flour that Toni was throwing at her.

Toni's kitchen was a fucking mess. And that's putting it lightly. 

The girls had been trying to bake a cake for the past couple hours. Key word is trying.

But instead it ended up being a messy food fight which had both girls covered in flour and cocoa powder.

Toni's laughing and Cheryl's screaming filled the kitchen with sound as she threw the flour at the redhead who had been trying to protect herself. But to no avail.

"Say you're sorry!"

"What the fuck? I didn't even say-"

"You said I was short dumbass!" Toni yelled, giggling childishly as she aimed to throw more flour at her but Cheryl quickly interrupted with her voice before she could.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry I called you short." Cheryl said with a chuckle before muttering under her breath. "It's not a lie though."

"What was that?"

"What was what?" Cheryl asked frowning her eyebrows in false confusion as she arched an eyebrow at her.

"What was the last thing you said?" The shorter girl asked as she approached Cheryl with her hand still filled with flour.

"I said sorry."

"No..after that."

"I didn't say anything after-"

"Liar!" Toni interrupted as she quickly grabbed the bag of flour and dumped it onto Cheryl's head who looked at her with rage filled eyes before she unexpectedly tackled the pink haired girl onto the floor and snatched the flour from her hand.

"Are you being serious!? You already had flour in your hand!" Cheryl yelled down at the amused girl who was grinning up at her.

"You look like a fucking ghost Cher. Even more than usual." She said which caused both girls to erupt into a laughter.

A laughter which went on for about 5 minutes, making both of their stomachs ache before both girls reached up to wipe their eyes which were watering from the laughter.

"Fuck..it was nice to laugh like that." Toni said chuckling lightly as Cheryl nodded.

"I know." Cheryl replied, sighing softly as she looked down at her with a smile which the serpent reciprocated. 

They stared at each other, at first smiling but soon their smiles faltered. Not because they were unhappy. But because they got lost in each other's eyes. So much so that they forgot they were even smiling.

Cheryl's heart was telling her to go for it, just lean down and capture those plump lips in her own. But her brain was telling her not to. 

Because there was so much to lose.

Toni's love and friendship.

Finally, after what felt like years, both girls were interrupted by the door bell, causing them to jump up at the same time due to the fright.

"I should uh..get that." Toni said sighing softly, and Cheryl would be lying if she said she didn't hear a hint of disappointment in her voice.

Cheryl nodded as she reluctantly moved off from her and stood up, before dusting herself off as best as she could as Toni did the same before making her way towards the door and opened it to reveal Cindy, her new girlfriend.
