Dear parents/guardians:
yesterday afternoon, at approximately 2:10 pm, we received a report of an incident occurring in the community unrelated to our school. In order to ensure the safety of all of our students and staff, the following procedures were instituted:
-Locked all school exit doors.-Notified staff to hold students and wait for further announcements;
-Worked to maintain a calm atmosphere.
Toronto Police Service lifted the hold and secure at 2:45 pm and school activities resumed.If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at the school sincerely, *** (the principal)===============================================================================
I examined at the newsletter top to bottom. Oh yeah, right. The hold and secure we had yesterday, one of the most stressful 30 minute moments of my life and I'm not joking. Now, lets have a flashback as to see why yesterday was so difficult...
October 3 was a planned to be simple day. No tests, No homework or assignment due today, just a breeze. The first period was math, doing a few sheets of easy equations, then we got a fire drill. Ehhhhhhh.... can I like, not? God I was so lazy, I was about to whine about standing up and walking down the hall. Oh well, so the drill began. I stood up, walked out the class, found my friends, spotted my crush, avoided eye contact, yahdee yahdee yah. after the drill, we headed back too the hallways, back into my class, then 40 minutes later, second period came. Oh look! A lock down drill! It was french class so I didn't argue. After the drill ended, I thought to myself how ironic it would be if we had a real fire or a real lock down today!........ Period 4 (last period) English class. *Sigh, how I HATE my English class...
I didn't mind English in general (if I did, I wouldn't be here -_-) but its the---- sorry. Let me get my sensor button out first. ITS THE DAMN ****ING EXCUSES OF THE CLASSMATES I HAVE, GOD ***********************************************************************************************MOTHER ********************(this half of the paragraph was removed for restricted/violent reasons) ************************************************************************************.
Don't get me wrong, a few of my greatest friends were in my English class with me and they are probably the most well behaved people there... beside me *flips hair* (jkjkjk don't hurt me Carina...) Any way where was I? Right... there was probably, maybe 6-8 people out of the 35 monkeys in our English class. No joke. And out of EVERY SINGLE CLASS I COULD OF HAD A REAL "HOLD AND SECURE" WITH, IT HADDDDDDDD TO BE THIS ONE. And when the announcement happened, you know what the monkeys did?
Monkeys #1-6 goes, "Ahhhhhh! Were being robbed! We're going to die! *almost flips the table while pretending either faint or hide under the table"
Monkeys #6-11 screams and LEGITIMATELY flips chairs and/or moved them around (since we were on the second floor, you could imagine how that could be a problem)
And finally, all the other monkeys either yelled, screamed, jumped, and one even hid in a cupboard... and I thought I was a child!
I could see the look on the teachers face, she had an expression combination of kill me now, I can't believe this, hold me before I murder everyone myself, and.... I quit. Half way through the hold and secure, the teacher really did just give up and I couldn't blame her! The monkeys laughing freely at the videos that played on there phones, everyone moving and chatting to there hearts content cause "yay! A hold a secure, no class! Lets be louder and more obnoxious then normal-and if thats not possible, we'll fix that!" and this one guy, asking the class if we should jump out the window... oh my.
All and all, looking back now I realize its nothing I should of been too strict or serious about, cause after all it was just a hold and secure... meh. That day was also pretty damn entertaining so I guess all and all- lets see; alive, check. Everyone happy, check. - a win-win! So I guess I should thank my ******* English class................................................................ nope.
