Jasons P. O. V.

I entered my home in silence, as usual. The last time I spoke was years ago, I dont even remember what I said. Per usual I hung up my winter coat on the hanger after stepping out of the frosty air of the outside world. Continuing in silence, I travel through the desolate hallways filled with family pictures that I no longer saw. I havent looked at them since before I was alone physically, even before I was alone mentally.

My life is easy, a simple repeated day for every day to come. Nothing ever changes, at least I never notice. My routine always stays the same. Wake up, go to work, get food on the way home from work, cook, work in my office, shower, and then sleep. Everyday the same for years. I like it this way, never being surprised and never being unsure.

I bring the groceries I picked up after work to the kitchen, preparing myself to cook. In the middle of cooking I receive a call from an unknown number, this is strange for several reasons.

It couldnt be someone I know because I have never spoken to them so why would they call me since it would require me to speak to them. It also couldnt be spam because the only places that have my phone number on document are my work and the phone company. After pondering what to do for a moment I decide to just decline the call and text them after I finished cooking.

Soon I finished cooking and settled down to eat, remembering to text the person during my meal.

Me: Hello, I received a call from this number earlier today and I was wondering who this was?

Unknown Number: What the fuck is wrong with you?! Why are you pretending like you dont know who this is?!?! Are you really that fucking childish?!?!

Me: Um, excuse me but please mind your language when speaking to people. I honestly dont know who this is, could you please clarify this detail before yelling at me?

I didnt receive a response from the number until many hours later while I was working in my office.

Unknown number: I apologize for yelling at you Mr. Mei. I got your number mixed up with someone elses. Please forgive me for my mistake.

Me: I forgive you but how do you know my name and number?

Unknown number: Your boss Ms. Jessica Lim has given me your number to contact you of a job project I have been working on. I wanted you to accompany me on it.

Me: May I ask which company and the contents of the projects?

Unknown number: I am the CEO of Park Matrix Industries. If you are interested in the project, I can have my secretary make an appointment for a meeting between you and me to discuss?

Me: That is fine, please have her contact me at this email. Jmei@Mayberryinc.com

That was the end of the conversation. It was then that I realized that I was behind schedule by about an hour. I rush to take a shower and get to bed seeing as it was after 1 am.

This day feels so wrong. My stomach is getting that same feeling you get at the very beginning of a rollercoaster. When apprehension and anxiety are mixed with amazement and intrigue. Maybe this will lead to my new routinethis will take some getting used to.
