Denver, Colorado

Sierra sat in the middle of the floor of her old apartment. Going through what she wanted to save and what to give to Goodwill. Nostalgic memories took most of her attention.

An hour later, the truck is loaded up and she heads up the mountain again. One of the field hands are waiting for her arrival to help her take her things to the room she was staying in. Everest was on the edge of the property, so she had a little time to get her things in without him knowing.

"Thanks Marcus. You the real MVP." She shakes his hand. The man tips his hat in acknowledgement before getting on his horse and heading west.

Sierra is so engrossed in her thoughts about her stuff that she doesn't notice that Everest is watching her with a smirk on his face.

"This gotta be the third trip you've taken this month to bring shit up in my house, bruh." He brings her attention to him.

"How you bully me into staying with you up here and then complain when I have stuff? I'm not understanding your logic."

"You need some help?" he ignores her.

Sierra rolls her eyes. "I don't need nan nigga. Thank you very much." She retorts. Everest laughs out loud.

"You funny as shit. Come on...I'm ready to eat."

"You need me to cook." She rolls her neck. Everest ignores her again. "I thought Pricilla already did lunch?"

"She on vacation with her daughters. It's just me and you for about two weeks." He wiggles his eyebrows. She followed him out the office.

Sierra pulls out the pots and pans to cook. Everest leaves her to it so he could shower. He'd canceled the rest of the day to rest the horses and his team. His theory was to allow the horses to mate naturally.

He walks in the kitchen and Si drops a pan. "Where are your clothes?!" she yelled.

"I'm not wearin any...in my house." He flings a pair of shorts over his shoulder. "You acting like you ain't never seen this body before."

"Okay, but we were stir crazy and under different circumstances." She defends her thoughts. Sierra fires up the stove again for the homemade sauce. "You wildin for o reason."

"I don't recall you ever having a problem. You must be feelin a nigga?"

"Booooyyyy!" She laughs out. Yes, she thinks.

Everest slides on the basketball shorts as he listened to her rant. Another reason he was taking off for a few days was so they could establish some boundaries.

"I have on pants now, Si. Chill..." he gets up to fix their plates. "I took off a few days so we could talk."

"About what?" she takes her place at the table to watch him place it in front of her. Their drinks were already made. "I love this view of the mountain in the summer."

"That's the main reason I bought this land." He confessed. "I just wanted to talk to you..." he starts. "I realize that maybe we're going too fast for you...is that the case?"

"Considering you were the one that liked to have good sex and take nice trips but as friends...I would ask you the same thing." She baits him.

"I also said that things were changing for me. You willingly ignore that part because you don't think it's you that has made me change my perception on things.

"That may be true but it doesn't necessarily explain this shift."

"I'm twenty-eight, Si. When my parents were my age, they had three kids and were both successful as fuck in their jobs. And I think about making roots, not just as a businessman but eventually a husband and father."

Sierra chokes on her morsel of food. "That's been my intent since I was twenty-two years old. I just hadn't found that person yet."

"And you just swear that person is me."

"The more you're against it, the more you prove to me that you are it." he has a comeback for her. "There are special things about my family that I can't explain right now, but this will make sense soon." He promises. Sierra finishes her food without responding and then rises to clean the kitchen.

"I need to come up with a menu for the next few days." She thinks out loud. "We should go on vacation too." she turns to Everest.

"I would love to, but I can't leave my horses. This is my peak mating season. I try to take extended vacations around thanksgiving through the new year. So if you wanna go then..."

"Well...I was planning on going home to see my mother by Thanksgiving or Christmas but it's still early." Her eyes are disappointed, but she doesn't think Everest sees. Sierra finishes the task at hand before going in his office to finish the first book.

"When your office gon be ready?"

"You kicking me out already though?" she laughs.

"No...and now that I think about it. I've never had no pussy in this room."

Sierra looks up in confusion. He snatches her up. "Hold up!"

"Don't act like it ain't been a minute." He whispers in her ear, sliding her panties down. I hate him, she thinks. "I would really like you to be with me." He slowly pumps his fingers inside of her.

"You have an interesting way of asking." She moves her hips to his rhythm.

He slows down, staring in her eyes. "But I'm serious, Si."

"What's in it for me?" she bucks her hips forward a little. Everest couldn't resist her. They trade places and she's on top, sliding down on him.

"Good food, good dick, and..." a gasp from her lips stops him. "Love." Her walls clench around him tightly, pushing her orgasm through unexpectedly.

Her heart pounded wildly. Her hands shook nervously. Everest doesn't give her a chance to overthink his proposal. But instead, holds her close to his chest so they could go in his room.

A couple rounds later, Sierra was tired and eyes drooping. She'd finish her work later.

"Oh, before I forget. My sister coming to town." Everest kisses her temple.

"Your WHAT?!"
