Sierra sat in the kitchen after their vacation, with her lips twisted. Everest was adamant about a storefront bakery on the new land and so far she was sitting in front of three different floor plans for it. And then ten different floor plans for the estate he wants to build on it as well.
"Why must he continue to test my limits!" she fussed. "What do you think Ms. Pricilla?"
Quickly the older woman, who reminded her of a younger version of her grandmother, had become the true voice of reason and guidance for the young woman.
"Depends on what you're looking for..." she smiled. "I like the storefront as something simple and then you can expand while using the kitchen while doing renovations. At least that's how my children did it."
"You are absolutely correct. I love that!" Sierra got up and hugged her. Suddenly the doorbell rang. Pricilla stood up to open it.
Forrest and Bryn tipped in the house, loud and excited as usual. Behind them stood her mother. Sierra is thrown off, stunned rather.
"Ev didn't tell me y'all were coming through!" she got up to hug her mother, albeit awkwardly, before hugging her future Bond parents.
"His ass don't know either. Shiid Pricilla! You lookin goodt dese days! How you doin!" Forrest flirts with the older woman. She shakes her head and throws up her hands.
"We came cuz we hungry! You gotta make them cookies! Send a recipe...something!" Bryn rubbed her hands like a fiend.
"Dang, well. We're kinda busy the next two days or so, however..." she stops when she sees Bryn's pouty face. "I'll make them for dessert tonight. We just got back so I'm kinda tryna get in the swing of things. Get the ranch back together and whatnot after a long break."
"Sure! Anything we can do?" Bryn pulls up a chair. Her mother is sitting on the other side.
"Y'all can get freshened up if you choose and we can discuss floor plans for the new estate. I don't even know where to begin." Sierra suggested. The older three agreed and left. Pricilla showed her mother where she could stay before the end of her shift.
Forrest, Bryn, and Cara, her mother, sat at the large table where the floor plans were being held. Forrest kept mhm'ing and nodding his head. Bryn preferred to watch Sierra's flick of the wrist in the kitchen.
"So, y'all doing a storefront and a new estate on the new land?" Bryn asks as casual conversation. The door opens and Everest walks in.
"Si! It's smellin good up in hea guh!" his loud voice makes it in the room before he does. He looks at the table and burst into a huge smile. "Ma, Pop! What y'all doin here! Ms. Cara, how you doin?"
"You took Sierra to Jamaica and left us to starve so we came up here. Cara, my old colleague reached out to us and asked to tag along." Bryn explains. "Sholl is cold up here though."
"Horses looking good, that's pretty rare for this time-a year." He announces, clearly proud of himself. "Let me shower y'all."
"I should be done by the time you're done." She checks the beef stew one more time and nodded to confirm.
"So, 500,000 acres! What you gon do with allat land boy!" Forrest takes a bite out of his homemade roll.
"I got that land for Si..." he gives her the floor. "It was all her idea. I just want a couple thousand more for my horses."
Sierra rolls her eyes. "I was thinking about opening some acres for like a vacation resort kinda thing. Something closer to the mountainous side. Like a retreat. I used to stay on the land we just acquired so I know it pretty well. What I do want to do immediately is make more roads on it. because I drive a golf cart to and from...which might have to be upgraded to a little van." She thinks. "That's what I have in mind right now. But...I do know most of my structural plans have to be pretty much in stone when mating season comes around in May."
