I was alone....

It was bright, hot, and humid. I ran through the once occupied stores searching for things I may need. I collected more food, drinks and other supplies until my bag was full. My bag was decently big so I fit a quite a bit of things in it. I searched the closest gun store I could find for ammo. I realized both of my guns were different, one was a .40 S&W and the other was a .38 super. When you're bored in a situation like this, you tend to read every book and information manual about guns you thought you'd never touch. I was able to find four boxes of ammo for my .40 S&W but only two for the other.
I spent most of my day ransacking through places just to see what I could find, running into those things on the way. I haven't shot one yet, nor did I want to. It's was getting late out so I decided maybe I should find shelter for the night. I made my way into another part of town and found an area of houses that seemed to be clear of the things. I made my way up to one of the houses, it was big, two stories at the most, a lot of windows, and a huge porch, A walk in one. I opened the porch door and was tackled to the ground immediately. "GET DOWN!", a woman's voice rang through my ears and I did as she said. Only because she had already had me on the ground from her attack.
The woman took my bag off my back and searched my person. "State your business..", the woman spoke in a serious tone and shoved her knee into my back. "I SAID STATE YOU BUSINESS", my body froze and I didn't know what to do. I never thought I would be useless in a situation like this. "Lilyan Parkson, age 19, shelter", I spoke quickly and loudly. The woman finally get off me and helped me up. "Sorry for the attack you just gotta be careful out here, there's people killing the walkers to survive, and the others...they kill us all", walkers? She called those things walkers. So those are zombies? Oh god I'm in deep here now. "Anyways Lilyan I'm Haley, Haley baker.", her name sounded so familiar to me, like I knew her from somewhere.
"A pleasure to meet you Haley..", I said sort of sarcastically. I mean this woman did just pin me to the ground and yell at me. She nodded, handed me my things back, and led me inside the home. The house had everything left behind, all the furniture, food, everything. Then again that's how most houses probably look now. "So tell me Lilyan, are you from around here?", Haley spoke with great confidence pacing back and forth at the front of the living room. I sat down on the couch and faced her. "Yeah I lived further out, I'm not from the mid city.", I spoke to match her confidence, not wanting to seem weak or bothered.
Haley stoped pacing around and turned to look at me. "How long have you known about the apocalypse?", Why was she asking me so many questions? Has this become an integration now? "Hello I asked you a question!?" She spoke louder this time and I snapped my head up to look at her, losing my train of though. "Uh, oh yeah uhm since this afternoon when I woke up. I went to bed last night and woke up this morning to..walkers." The girl sat there for a moment and sighed. "Me too, I've been trying to find people who have been here longer, I ran into some man earlier and he had been here just as long as us." She frowned and sat down next to me. "Soo, in conclusion Haley, this started today?", she gave me this look of annoyance and looked away from me. "Well yes smart ass, it started today". She rolled her eyes and stood up again. "Let me show you around".
After a few hours Haley had me settled in my own room and introduced me to a couple others. Ace, Johnathan, and KiAh. Ace and Jonathan we're brothers so they shared a room. KiAh was a paranoid person so she just roamed the house all day and usually sleeps on the couch. So I got the guest room and Haley in the master bedroom. Haley explained to me that it was her house, and that her mom and dad were on vacation when this all happened and she can't get ahold of them so...she knows she's on her own here.  I got as comfortable as I could and just sat in front of the window. I watched as the moon shined bright and the stars twinkled. That was one thing that hadn't changed, but for some reason there was one thing in particular that stuck in my mind. The man I saw earlier. Who could he have been? Haley talked to me about the boy that came
By earlier in the same clothes and all. She said his name started with a D. Maybe...just maybe I'll run into him sometime. I let my mind wonder of all the things the future could hold and I singed songs I remembered and loved. As the night sank in more I had gotten so tired and fell into a deep sleep.
