Thad didn't have time to talk to Kurt before their classes. He sat through his classes, unable to focus on his teachers. He hadn't been able to sleep after they had dropped in.

"Mr. Harris, are you alright?" one of his teachers finally asked.

He didn't notice until he realized everyone looked to him. "I- I'm sorry, what?"

"Are you alright?" they repeated.

"Yeah, fine. Sorry, I've just... There's a lot on my mind."

They smiled understandingly, moving on with the lesson. He and his entire friend group had pretty much received a pardon for zoning out or not paying attention, considering that everything happening was happening to them.

"Hey, man, are you sure you're okay?" someone asked him.

He turned towards the voice, seeing the boy sitting beside him looking at him worriedly. He was on the Warblers, Thad was pretty sure.

Thad shrugged. "I just didn't sleep well. I'm overtired, is all."

"You didn't?" the boy looked genuinely concerned.

"I mean... I'm just on edge, you know?" he admitted. "With everything that's happening? I just don't want to see my friends get hurt."

He looked empathetic, as if he felt Thad's pain. "Do you ever stop thinking about it?"

"I can't. None of us can, especially the ones who haven't been targeted yet."

He frowned comcernedly. "You all worry?"

"Yeah. If not for ourselves, for each other."
