Angel's POV

I stared out the open window watching the bright, glowing sphere rise into the dull pale sky. It was a cool, crisp winter morning while the invigorating scent of roses filled my nose. As I was embracing the peaceful serenity I was fully aware of the faint footsteps approaching my room. I had already known beforehand it was my father, always walking in long and quick strides. With him barging carelessly into the room, I could already sense the smile I hated plastered across his face.

"We're leaving now, my Angel." Sebastian informed me.

I grabbed my white ceramic mask my father gave me and put it on. He had always told me to wear something over my face ever since I was a child. Although I didn't know the reason why, I just complied instead of asking. I walked past Sebastian and out the doors of the mansion. I could feel his gaze on me burning through the back of my skull the entire time but I ignored it. I let out a sigh as I hopped into the carriage beside Ciel. He was like the little brother I never had. I cared deeply for him, but I don't think I even knew it myself.

"Where are we going?" I asked him, closing my eyes to stay calm.

"London. We'll be staying there for a while."

Sebastian stepped into the carriage ending my conversation with Ciel and we finally began our little trip. I rested my head lightly against Ciel's shoulders because of a small headache I've had. He didn't seem to be bothered at all by it and pulled out a letter that was sent from the queen. He set the open envelope in his lap which held three tickets to a circus show.

"What has the queen requested of you this time?" I questioned once I knew he was finished reading.

"There's a traveling troupe expected to arrive in London soon and a large number of children are missing from the towns they've visited. They always seem to vanish without a trace in the middle of the night." He stated.

"Like they've been lured away by the Pied Piper of Hamelin?" I uttered to myself quietly with slight interest.

I stared at the paper he held in his hand, then the tickets.

"Where shall you go first, my lord?" My father asked Ciel.

"I want to check out what evidence the police have gathered so far. Afterwards we'll visit him, if we have to." He replied.

The police records we looked through were no help at all. There were no bodies found that matched the missing children so we did end up going to him. He's such a nuisance, always wanting to be told a joke like a dog begging annoyingly for a treat.

Although I could tell the information we received from the Undertaker gave Ciel some hope. We found out that the children were still alive so we decided to personally investigate the circus ourselves. There was something about them I didn't like.

Once we arrived at the place it seemed as normal as any other circus. It was filled with laughter and bright smiles from all the families who came. We walked into a gigantic tent and took a seat in the top row. I'd have to admit the inside was quite elaborate. It had many intricate decorations with golden chandeliers hanging from the top that glowed beautifully, lighting up the enormous space.

I wasn't paying much attention to the show seeing they had fairly standard acts until they asked for a member of the audience to participate. My father kindly volunteered and I watched as he traipsed right up to the tiger, disregarding Joker and Beast's warnings. Ciel and I sweat dropped as he knelt in front of the tiger and caressed it's furry cheeks, complimenting her in every way possible from her large mesmerizing eyes down to her plum pink paws.
