Emily AbbottJack and I went wide at the water park, trying out every single ride.
Each ride, we made a funny face for the camera, Jack convincing me to buy at least one photo from the booth.
Once the park was closed, we made our way back to the lobby, drying my hair with the fluffy white towel as we walked.
"I'll call the boys, see who wants to come get dinner with us?" Jack suggested as we made it to the elevators.
"Sure, text me when you want to me. Gonna go get changed." I said, waving as the elevator doors closed.
Dylan was on the bed when I made it to the room.
"How did you already make a mess of this place, Em?" He scowled as I scanned my bed. More clothes covered the bed than the clothes that were in my suitcase. I shrugged.
"Jack asked if anyone wanted to go to dinner in thirty. Are you going with him?" Dylan asked, not looking up from his phone.
"Yea, you going?" I asked him, getting a nod in response.
I gathered my things and a change of clothes for a shower and dinner.
When I finished, I put on some quick makeup and tried to dry my hair best I could before my brother pounded on the bathroom door.
"Let's go!" He called through the door, I opened it to find him putting his shoes on.
Dylan and I made it down to the lobby, finding only Cam York sitting on the couches by himself.
"Hey Abbotts, where's everyone?" He asked us, throwing his arms on the side of the couch.
A few more boys walked down after us, followed by Cole and Alex. Jack was one of the last boys to arrive, followed by his roommate, Trevor.
Some parents and siblings had tagged along, and the restaurant attached to the hotel managed to stack five tables together to fit us all.
Thankful for the servers, the hotel was a buffet style, so once she wrote down twenty five drink orders, we all separated to find food.
My favorite food, since I was young, was mac cheese. Especially the white cheddar kind. So, when I found a whole tray of the dish, I beelined towards it.
I was dishing myself a whole plate of food, trying to ignore the annoying sounds my stomach was making, when someone stepped up next to me.
I assumed it would be Jack or Dylan, too busy serving myself to look up.
"You gonna save me some?"
That was not my brother, and that was not Jack.
I looked up and froze in action when I saw Trevor. He raised his eyebrows when I didn't reply.
"Ha, right. Here." I handed him the spoon, nearly dropping it before he could take it.
As I bolted out of there, I couldn't help but peak over my shoulder at the boy, staring at me as I walked away.
Great.
When I sat back down next to Alex and Dylan, they teased me for my plate of just macaroni and cheese.
I thought I was clear from embarrassing myself, digging into my meal.
But Trevor, sweet Trevor, decided his seat would be right across from me. I tried to ignore the fact that he had originally taken his seat two tables down and now had moved.
I weighed my options of jumping up from my seat and taking my mac to go.
"You look nice tonight, Emily." Jack said from across the table, his seat next to Trevor.
"Thanks." I smiled at him, watching as Trevor's hand smacked Jack's shoulder.
"So, Emily, are you here for the tournament too?" Trevor asked me. I perked up.
"No, just here for support." I nodded towards Dylan, who was already staring at me with a grin. I wanted to kick him.
"You play any sports?" He continued, playing with his fork.
"Softball." I nodded with my words, trying to seem nonchalant. He smiled.
Our conversations died down and everyone broke off into their own. When finished, I excused myself, telling Dylan I was heading back to the room.
He nodded, giving me a thumbs up as he chewed his food.
"Bye guys." I waved as I turned to leave. As I turned, my eyes slid to Trevor's, he already staring.
I tried to ignore the twinge in my chest, telling myself it was only a coincidence.
