Chapter 1:
The sky was clear and my mind was free of distraction. It was another perfect winter day in Sydney, I always had a tendency to sound clique. Running along the foot path I could feel my body slowly defeating the cold weather. A warm coffee every morning had become a custom I had adopted since moving to the city. The Morning Show had some interesting headlines this morning. Much to my benefit Billabong is plummeting down the stock market, Coles and Woolworths are still having a milk war and the Prime Minister is still throwing incentives out to small business owners.
Some people would say that I had the dream, my own intercity apartment, no male issues and my own successful business selling women's fashion all around the world. Well that is how I see it I think that every department of my life is perfect. Oh except for one area that I was yet to confront and was on the other end of this phone call. "Hey Kate" It was Beau, Beau and I had been best friends for roughly seven years. He was my guy friend that one person that I can tell everything without being judged and he always has the best solutions. "Hey, how did you go talking to April?" I asked April is Beau's girlfriend and lately the road has been rocky for them. He's been talking to me at least once a day lately to gain a woman's point of view and some moral support. You might think why does she need to confront him? I'm twenty one he's twenty two, he is a carpenter with an impectible body, beautiful smile and heart of gold. "Yeah I sat down with her last night and just said to her that I didn't like the situation that we were in." Beau was the sincere type always honest and to the point.
"How did she take it?" I asked.
"We sort of had a fight..."
"Buddy what's going on?" I felt sorry for him every relationship he entered ended up the same. "I just want to spend more time with her she never comes over anymore. I miss her you know."
"Yeah I know what you mean, so now she is just not talking to you?"
"Yeah after I left her house I tried calling but she wont pick up. Kate I am just over it I cant wait around forever. Like I understand that work is crazy but she cant just ignore me."

The tiles in my apartment were like ice bergs, I really needed to buy another mat for my lounge room. I was feeling energized and ready for a full on day. My next seven sketches are due to the manufactures by 5:00pm this arvo and I had only finished three of them. Yes my mind was clear but my schedule was not. I began drawing the sketches in my big blue lounge chair. It wasn't long before someone had to destroy my focus by calling me. Layla was calling she was one of my models. "Hello my beautiful" I said.
"Hey! My courageous friend!" She was chirpy and this only meant one thing.
"How did you sleep?" I asked.
"Oh great great, I went out with Thomas last night." I wasnt talking about that sleep.
"Wow really how did that go?" Thomas was a part of this group Beau and I had formed over the past few years. There was Beau, Thomas, Lucy, Apirl and now Layla was sort of joining. Beau's girl April's never really liked spending time with me, I guess I just dont have time for her. "He is a real gentlemen."
"Are we talking about the same Thomas?"
"Yes" She laughed. "We went to a french resturant and it was beautiful and guess what?"
"What?"
"He even ordered snails!"
"EWWW!" I shouted. "Did you tell them?"
"Yeah they were a bit like seafood." I had to laugh at her she is such a beautiful girl.
