1:25⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The soft material of the blanket was gathered beneath the woman's fingers as she hugged it against her body, the chill of the air gently kissing her cheeks as she sunk into the plush leather interior of the couch. Her cellphone lit up faintly on the coffee table in front of her, though as her eyes flitted shut, she gave little attention for the message. A faint sigh escaping her lips, the pounding in her heart seemed to subside for the few moments, though the anxieties stubbornly persisting in her inner being. She jerked her head from falling into the side of the sofa, eyes flickering awake as she yawned loudly, rolling her shoulders in a futile attempt to awaken herself.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

At one point she'd gotten up and made the effort to scrap together a sad cup of black coffee, but even then, she placed the poor cup on the table only to have forgotten about it a few minutes later as her breathing slowed and a quick rest overcame her. Shallow breaths escaped her lips as her head finally fell into the comforts of the sofa, her body slumping into the corner. Her legs hung off the side of the couch despite being her head being nestled above the armrest. Heart occasionally leaping with joy and beating with passion, the truest sensation of this lovestruck heart whispered motivation to her throughout the night – foolish words indeed, but they seemed to have worked. She was... slightly awake.

A man tiredly stumbled into the walkway to the apartment, the brisk night air brushing against his cheeks and dim lights illuminating his features. The quietest, yet fullest sigh escaped his soft lips as he reached a hand into his pocket, fishing out a key ring to which he jingled before turning it in the lock to swing the door open. The hallway lights filtered into the room submerged in darkness (other than a dim light that hardly illuminated its portion of the room). He squinted from the thick shadows, his eyes trying to adjust to the lack of light.

Immediate shock lit up his features at the sight of the woman nestled in the sofa, his brows furrowing, but the smallest hint of flattery rolling over him. He gently slipped off his work shoes, the sound of his socks hitting the ground becoming practically muted. The man tiptoed in a comedic fashion, eventually wandering over to the couch where he leaned down to his lover's face, a smile tugging at the edges of his lips with the mischief that he was about to speak. He leaned forwards, gently planting a kiss on her cheek before becoming unable to resist the smile that broke out across his lips.

"That new episode of Battlestar Galactica really got to you, huh?" the teasing words rolled off of his lips, his smile fading into a slight smirk as he then wondered why she'd been up this long.

At the sound of his voice, the woman stirred quietly, lifting her head slightly before yawning. It took her a moment or two before she realized who exactly had been in front of her, but the moment she had her eyes lit up and she immediately broke out into an excited smile. "Jim!" came her soft voice. She leaned forwards with energy, slinging her arms around his neck in a gentle hug. Jim could only laugh softly at this with equal exhaustion, reaching his arms up to pull her closer to him.

After a moment, she pulled away, blinking heavily as she stretched her arm out. Raising a hand to cover her mouth as she yawned, she sat up straight as to make room for Jim to situate himself next to her. Pam rubbed her face with her hands before realizing that she'd indeed been passed out on the sofa for the hours when she'd meant to wait for him to arrive. "Oh, Jim, I'm so sorry, I didn't realize..."

Jim interrupted her, raising a brow with a half-smile. "For what?" He lightly laughed as he stretched an arm out, wrapping it around her shoulders. "Beesly, I'm not sure there is a single thing you should be apologizing for at this hour."
