Brilliant sunlight streamed through the drawn windows, the cracks exposing just the smallest blessings of light that dawned upon the two resting in the room. A single bird chirped outside of their window, flapping its wings as it ventured to another branch. A quieted, shallow breath escaped the man's lips as one arm remain strung off the side of the bed, the other pulling close the woman he loved. It took him a moment as the sunlight tugged on his eyelids, being a natural heavy sleeper as he was, a yawn cracking open his lips as he finally began to get adjusted to the daytime.
A warm, white blanket encompassed the two lovers. The heat of their bodies hugged each other's sides in the night, persuading the cold to go elsewhere. They were intertwined in both body and spirit. She wore one of his old but soft t-shirts, the shirt painted in a blue that complimented her hair and reached her knees. He held her tenderly, holding her close as her hands rested softly on his gently lifting and falling chest. His eyes slowly opened, a grogginess to them that was to be expected in these few hours. His hair stuck up and it scattered itself against the pillow.
Unable to resist, his mouth cracked open as he yawned loudly this time, his eyes threatening to close on him again. Tiredly, he lifted a hand to run his fingers through his hair, pushing the messy brown locks back to hopefully stay down. He grasped the covers with his free hand, scooting himself down slightly so that he could turn on his side. His lover was facing him, having always slept on her side, her lips parted slightly as she breathed quietly. Jim scooted closer to her, placing a soft kiss to her forehead before wrapping both arms firmly around her.
At this, Pam broke into a soft smile, a clear indication that she was awake (or had just awakened). Jim laughed tiredly, his voice a bit raspy. "Gooood morning," he murmured, arms still hugging her sides. Pam's smile persisted as she tiredly chuckled, eyes still shut as she nuzzled against her lover.
She was adorable. Jim knew this as a fact, for sure.
"Is it morning already?" Her voice was muffled as she pressed against Jim, lifting her hand to gently brush against his cheek. Jim just smiled warmly at this, leaning into her hand as he tiredly sighed in agreement. The sunlight beaming through the wooden windows became brighter, now somewhat blinding Jim's face. He squinted, lifting a hand to rub his eyes before readjusting on Pam's features.
The woman pulled away for a moment, the two now lying with faces inches away from each other. Pam's eyes were open at this point – and just slightly threatening to close if a simple yawn befell her lips. Jim's hand now searched for Pam's, the man sliding his fingers between her own as he pulled her hand gently between the two of them. Giving her hand a soft squeeze, he slightly shook his head in disbelief as a tired, yet love-foolish grin dominated his lips.
"You're so beautiful, Beesly. I don't know how I was ever lucky enough to love someone as wonderful as you." He insisted in a slight whisper, his deep blue eyes locking with hers. Pam's closed-lip smile grew wider as she felt her heart leap in her chest. Pam teasingly ran a hand through Jim's hair, ruffling it before resting her arm around his neck.
She yawned widely, fighting her exhaustion for the time she wanted to spend with her love. "I am just as lucky as you are," Pam grinned, her eyes looking up to Jim's as he chuckled a "right, right." The two remained there for a moment, only for Pam to find a sudden breeze of cold air to overcome her person. She shivered, Jim's brows furrowing in concern.
Jim pulled her close, her arms now resting around his torso as their bodies became intertwined. Pam nuzzled her head into the crook of his neck, Jim's chin resting atop Pam's frizzy yet lovable morning hair. His lips gently pressed against the top of her forehead as he felt another wave of tiredness overcome him. He didn't want to get up.
"I don't want this morning to end." Pam murmured, eyes closed and soft breaths escaping her lips.
Jim smiled. "I'm sure a few more minutes wouldn't hurt."
