CHAPTER IV (song: Intro & Falling Away From Me)

School was over---for the week, at least. Cameron breathed in the fresh morning air, feeling more open and less down than usual. She yawned, stretched, and then made her way downstairs into the living room. Her Uncle Henry was lounged out on the couch; he appeared to be sleeping: probably his attempt to wake early, not knowing that he would fall asleep again. Cameron looked around the house for her Aunt, but could find her no where. She then checked outside, and realized that the car was missing; thinking rationally, Cameron checked the refrigerator for a note and---sure enough---there was one pinned to the fridge. It read:

Cameron and Henry,

I went to the store to get some groceries. I'll be back shortly.

I would have taken you with me, but you two were sound asleep.

Call me on my cell phone when you wake up. I love you both.

Sherry.

Cameron put the note on the table and picked up the house phone. Though she hadn't used it yet, she knew exactly where it was. She punched in her Aunt's cell number and let the phone ring a few times. Aunt Sherry picked up, "Hello?"

"Hey," Cameron greeted, "It's me, Cameron."

"Hey, honey. Wow, I didn't expect you two to be up this early."

Cameron looked over at the stove clock. It read 6:15 a.m. "Well, Uncle Henry isn't up yet, it's just me."

"Oh, I should've known," she laughed lightly on the other end of the phone. "So, is there anything you wanted to do today? I'm nearing home, so I can pick you up if you want to get out of the house for awhile."

"Sure," Cameron was enthusiastic about sight-seeing instead of being stuck inside all day.

"Alright. Get whatever you want to take with you and be ready in fifteen minutes. Love you."

"Love you." She hung up the phone, and immediately went to take a quick shower. Afterwards, she dressed in a more 'elegant' outfit: a white corset shirt with black lace on it, a black-and-white plaid skirt with chains instead of a zipper or buttons, a pair of striped black and white knee-high stockings, and a pair of Demonia Seven Buckle knee-high combat boots. She then went back to the bathroom to blow-dry her hair and apply her make-up, which was simply mascara, eye shadow, and eyeliner, seeing as foundation or base made her break out. Not that she needed it; she was blessed with perfect, clear skin.

She descended the stairs, and just as she was doing so, the front door opened and in walked Aunt Sherry. "Hey, Cameron," her Aunt greeted her with a hug before she closed the door and sat her purse down on the table.

"Hey," Cameron rebuttled her with a welcome. Cameron leaned against the counter top and waited for her Aunt to go wake Uncle Henry. Once that fiet was accomplished, her Aunt made her way back over to Cameron.

"So, are you ready?"

"Ready when you are."

"Great!" Aunt Sherry coaxed Cameron out the front door and into the car as she herself said goodbye to a confused Henry.

The scenery was beautiful---- the lakes glistening from being iced over slightly, the trees coated in a thin layer of snow, the ground the same. Aunt Sherry had driven for about twenty minutes before reaching the outskirts of the small town; the town was simple, but at least it had a mall and a number of book stores. Aunt Sherry reached over to turn the radio on.
