I slowly creek open the door, I looked around the bright lighted room almost blinding me, my eyes took a minuet to adjust.

The Rose's on this white end table  are slowly  loosing there petals and withering away.

light blue curtains circled around a hospital bed, hiding away a slowly dieing patient.

The walls were also a clean peach color but noticeable parts were chipping away. The room itself seemed to have withered away along with everything else in it.

Atleast there was one window were a chair was facing out at the city. Which helped uplift whatever life was left in here.

But to be honest there was no happiness left in here just a heartbreaking emptiness that filled the room.

The smell hit me...It smelt sour with a rusty metal odor mixed with a bunch of chemical's which filled my nose making me want to gag with every breath I took.

Nurses wearing all white were going in and out of this tiny room with carts full of viles of blood and different types of medications that I couldn't even pronounce at the time.

I cant believe It's been a whole year since she's been cooped up in here.

A whole year that I haven't seen my moms loving face or felt her presence.

I continue to stand at the doorway for about a minute before I developed the courage to even walk a step into the room. I felt nervous I didn't know what to expect.

My dad motioned me to go closer, he had a pained expression plastered on his face, he  didn't want me see her like this but he knew I needed to, he knew i needed to see her again.. He knew this would be the last hello and hardest goodbye.

I on the other hand had no idea.

I mustered up the courage, took a deep breath and slowly walked towards the curtain, I took a glance over at my dad and I wondered to my self. What can really be so painful behind this blockage between me and the woman who gave me life?

I grabbed onto the cold ridged curtain and yanked it aside,

My whole body went numb.. I felt a clammy sweat building up in my palms, my stomach turned and my throat felt lodged, my eyes started to burn and become blurry from tears that slowly dripped down my cheeks....

My head went 1000 miles per second, the woman that was looking back at me didn't look like my mother anymore.

The sight of her was almost nauseating...

This woman was completely balled, with a complexion of a ghost, her eyes were darkened, she looked exhausted..She was so skinny it felt like her bones would just crack at one simple touch or poke.

Were they even feeding her let alone taking care of her?

She had a pained look on her face like she wanted to say something but didn't have the Energy to do so.

My dad cut through the tension and spoke with a raspy voice as though he was about to cry. "It's ok hunny, your mom hasn't been doing well for awial as I told you. You can come closer and see her. She will appreciate that... So will you trust me."

Out of no were I just looked at him then looked at her with the tears rolling down my face and I screamed.....

"THIS IS NOT MY MOTHER!"

I dont know were that came from at the time... Maybe I just didn't want to believe or admit that she was in fact my mother laying there like a shribbled up zombie.
