FRANKIEKLINEISBACKINTOWN, Steve tells her one night as they're closing Scoops Ahoy, and Robin finds herself frowning as she fumbles with the lock.
"What do you mean?"
"Just that," he shrugs, "She's back."
Frankie was a popular blonde airhead back in High School, the daughter of the city's mayor. She used to be part of Steve's stupid group of douchebags before she magically switched schools to another state late July and no one ever heard from her again. There were some rumors - that she had dirt on her dad she wanted to expose during his campaign (which Robin found very hard to believe given that she loved to show off how rich her family was), that her grandma was dying and they needed someone to take care of her, that she'd gone insane and tried to kill her family and they were trying to cover it all up, that she was seeing ghosts and talking to russian spies and other dumb theories Robin didn't believe for a second. In fact, Robin hardly thought about the girl at all. She should go back to that.
The lock clicks as she closes up.
"Why are you telling me that?"
Steve shrugs again, and Robin just rolls her eyes and leaves.
