I couldn't stop pumping my leg up and down. What should I do? I have no idea.
The only thing I could do is to wait in this room till the police officer comes to ask me some questions? You probably want to know how I got into this situation. So...
*flashback*
"Stoooopppp ", Katy whined as I took popcorn out of her bowl. I laughed before eating it. We are watching a Disney movie right now.
I wanted to watch an action film but according to her there are a lot of action in Disney movies.
Well, whatever she says. I didn't really care what we watch as long as I'm with her. I know you are wondering if I told her about my feelings for her but no I didn't. After her mom interrupted us the whole situation was kinda awkward. Should I tell her now? I mean it's the right moment right now.
"Hey, Katy? "
"Mmmm? " she was so focused on the TV.
"You know the day when we got interrupted in the hospital? I wanted to tell you that I really do li-„
I was cut off by the doorbell. Damn why do I always have to get interrupted? She stood up looking at me confused.
"I wonder who that is ",she said. Probably because her parents are not in the country right now and Derek is working. I heard muffled voices.
"Melvin? Ehmm you have visitors ." Visitors? I stood up and went to door. I was greeted by two police officers.
"Are you Melvin Clay? "
"Yes sir, why is there a problem ?"
"We got the instructions from Mr. Baker to find out who and why they, he or she kidnapped his daughter "
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
"So we have to take you two to the station ",the other officer said.
The drive to the station was long but short at the same time. The whole time I was thinking how to cover myself. If they ask Katy she will say everything literally everything. And Cole will be in trouble which means that I'm in trouble to. Fuck. Ok I'm just going to text Katy right now to lie.
Perfect I forgot my phone. I couldn't even think further because the car stopped. Walking into the building chills started forming on my arms. All this people here. Some of them looked scared and some of them looked like they've been here a couple of times already because they didn't looked scared at all.
"We will ask Katy some questions first and then you Melvin ,ok? " I just nodded. Minutes later they called me, Katy looked tired and scared.
I wish I could tell her that everything will be fine but to be honest I'm not even sure.
*end of flashback*
"Melvin Clay? " I looked up as the police officer walked in.
"Yeah, that's me," I nodded.
"We have to ask you a couple of questions. So first I want to know how close are u to Katy ?"
"Mmm", I got a little bit nervous "Katy and I are just friends... sadly", I whispered the last part hoping that he didn't hear. He wrote something on a piece of paper.
"How did you react when you find out that she was kidnapped? "
"what is that for a stupid question? Of course I was in shock, we all started panicking and I wished that everything was just a prank or something. "
He looked at me for a long time, well a little too long. He wrote something again.
"As far as I know you two weren't really that close when you started working together, right? " I nodded. "And the company of your families are working together? " I nodded again and looked at him confused.
"Are you, you know scared that she might be better than you at work and that she might get your place? "
We stared at each other for two minutes. And then I started laughing I was laughing my ass off, like literally.
Did he really just asked me this question? While I was laughing he still had a straight face. Well he wasn't amused at all.
"The answer is no. I'd never be scared of her taking "my place ". This is not what I want to do in the future anyways ." He looked at me weirdly.
Wait, did he really think that I- omg.
"Sir, I know what you think. But it is not me I would never kidnap her.„
"Look, Melvin I really think that you are a good guy and that you don't mean any harm. Katy already told me that Cole Sprouse kept her in his house. But the whole situation is still a bit fishy don't you think so?
Ok she was kidnapped by Cole but you were the one who brought her to the hospital, right. So my question is how did you know where she was?! ", he raised his voice at the end. Fuck.
"I-I", I stuttered.
"I know that this situation is uncomfortable but if you cooperate with us, you won't be in trouble."
"OK, I'll tell you the truth. " I looked up at him .
