He was sad and lonesome

He was sad and lonesome. Just wanted somebody to love him. Huddled up by the fence he'd stay. The closest he'd get to the outside world.

Like a princess trapped in a castle, the midnight black dog would wait for someone to rescue and love him, but this isn't a fairytale. This is reality. The cursed glowing chain that choked around his neck prevented him from ever being free.

Sometimes he'd look to the sky, stars appearing in his eyes as he'd stare. Closing them and holding the glowing speckles at that thought. Other times he would gaze at his own skinny reflection in puddles left by recent rainfall. Wishing it was a portal that he could just dive through and escape.
