Her name is Becky Reid. But she'll only answer if you call her Bex.
Bex was one of the few lucky ones in Hawkins Indiana. Her grandfather had been the person to start the Hawkins Post, having a knack for journalism, but no feasible way to get to New York to try his hand at the New York Times. So, he did it himself. And in a small town full of nosey neighbors, it took off. Everyone wanted to know everything about everybody.
When her grandpa retired, Bex's dad took over the Post. He wasn't much of a writer, though. Didn't too much care about reporting. He was a businessman. If there was a profit to be made, her dad would find a way. So, clearing house, Bex's dad rehired an entirely new team, of his old college buddies. Not real journalists or writers. Just friends who he knew would help make him money.
