When I was younger I used to get these back spasms. After the bullet they started. They don't happen as often any more but they are happening out. Everything went black but I can still use all my other senses. I can smell the fire and feel the wind against my feet as I get carried away. I saw a tall figure with a slim but masculine silhouette running to word me and figure he must be carrying me. It's Zeke. He's the only one that would think to come get me. My head hurts and I still can't believe that it was bombed again. The Taj Mahal was bombed again, under my watch. I felt like hell. $1000000  says I looked like hell. I couldn't feel from my waist down. And when I tried to open my eyes I realised they were taped down.

I heard people muttering under their breath as someone else said things like, "internal bleeding," and "fractured pelvis".

I must have been in a hospital. And then the strangest thing happened. One of the doctors said "you saved her life going back for her, you know that?" And then a voice (and may I just clarify that it was not Zeke's but in actual fact Harley's) "the peices of the puzzle are falling into place and willem engel has been doing a wonderful job distracting people from actual tasks. He is being interrogated at this moment for causing a distraction with birds when the first attack happened."

"He is a public nuisance, of course he would be involved." I felt really dizzy, I could barely move my nostrils to breath (which by the way is even more difficult considering I had a tube up my nose to breath for me that wasn't really doing anything) and it was all I had to open my mouth and whisper "Harley..." Before everything went black again.

The next time I woke up, there wasn't the same muttering and helping of machines. Instead, there was the quiet hum of someone waiting anxiously. I opened my eyes, but only slightly. I saw that Pippa was frowning and chewing on the inside of her thumb, while next to her, Annabelle was humming. I smiled and, with far too much effort said "Hi." They both stopped their little habits and looked down at me.
Annabelle just looked at me and said my name, not my nick name, my real actual birth only best friends know about name "Elody?". I didn't have very mush energy so I just kept smiling and nodding (mainly to myself). Pippa looked down at me and just started talking. She must have been in a panicked state because she just rambled things. "There was another attack. On the mahal. Well, really on the public area. No one is dead, yet. We don't know who did it. This guy has been into see you a fair bit. Zeke hasn't visited yet. You were out for like eight days? You're doing alright. You have been better. You have a semi fractured pelvis and a small concussion. Part of your spine will never be in full use again because of internal bleeding. You will be able to walk just not twist it at certain angles. You have an "unresting muscle in your lower back. Oh, and you are kind of..." She trailed off.
"Kind of what?" I asked.
"Umm... How do I put this nicely? Eeer? Well..." She stuttered
Annabelle interrupted her and said rather blankly "You are as bald as an eagle. You lack of hair on the head is not a disease or a lifestyle, it is an apearance. And I know you are not vain so I guess you can live without some hair for a little while." She smiled. I would never in my wildest dreams guessed that Annabelle would be the one who was brave enough to tell me something Pippa couldn't. I reached my hand up with a lot of effort and passed my hand over my scalp. Sure enough, I was bald. What they failed to mention was that my head had, what felt like, a scar that covered half my head suggesting that there had been an operation.
I needed to walk around. To adjust. I had been out eight days. I needed to see what had changed. I couldn't really talk very much. I had already used much of my energy so I just said "walk, now". They both looked at each other and then called for a nurse. Soon after the nurse came in and they spoke to her quietly for a moment. The nurse nodded and then returned with an oxygen tank and a wheel chair. I tried to push myself up but, part of the reason why I couldn't feel below my waist was that my spine was dead (of course this is an exaggeration) but also because I was strapped to the bed. The nurse stopped me from moving and called for a doctor. A tall man came in and again, had a word with the nurse and he nodded and pulled my blanket off. I examined my legs. They were very pale and had tubes sticking into them everywhere. He unstrapped the buckles keeping me to the bed and then, carefully, started changing the things the tubes were connected to, to more portable items, after about ten minutes, he carefully lifted my off the bed and softly lay me down in the wheel chair. He wrapped the oxygen tank connects thing around my nose and then Pippa started wheeling me.
A/N. So hi, this chapter is rather short but the next few chapters are going to be kind of boring so I will try and make these hospital scenes not too important and if you want you can skip them and I'll have a chapter that gives a summary or something.
