Carling POV

"considerans te corvum... there are dangers in the shadows"

I said to Sebastiann the look in his eyes was one of inquiring and excitement. I turned to face the darkness of the room and stepped in, the shadows swallowed me, blocking me from his veiw. The doors closed and I looked around. The room was ornately decorated, a luxurious four poster bed sat in the middle of the room to the left massive window lead to a balcony that looked out on to the back of the estate.

I looked to the sky, now dark. It was far later then I had imagined. walking to the bed I dismissed the shadows that had covered my body, they melted into the walls, pulling the thick curtains shut. I yawned, most full blooded demon never sleep, they view it as something they do not need and a luxury. I on the other hand could give a crap, I found that even though I didn't fully require rest it was a good way to regain energy and stave of my hunger for souls of the living. With the sheets pulled back I crawled in, immediately closing my eyes, the thoughts of what had just transpired with the crow circulated in my head as I drifted off.

I was running, my bare feet stung every time they hit the cold wet floor. Behind me the angry shouts of men filled the halls.

"Find her!! She must not get out or we will be ruined!"

My heart beat wildly within my chest. Then a hand shot out of a dark corner, grabbing my hair and yanking me off my feet.

"I found the little bitch"

My heart stopped, it was a man's voice, I knew the voice it belonged to the guard who watched all of the children before they were taken.

I don't want to die. I don't want to die,
I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!

The words continuously flew through my head till they spilled out of my mouth in broken pleas. The only response from anything was the mocking laughter from my capture and he gripped my hair tighter and hauled me to my feet.
I cried out and grabbed his fist trying to pry ot from my hair. I opened my eyes and immediately fear flooded my entire being. There not five feet in front of me was a massive blood stained stone alter. I sucked in a breath only to regret it immediately. The room reeked of rotten, old blood and charred flesh. I fought as he hauled me towards it, throwing me on and quickly chaining my hands and feet to the alter.
"Please! Don't do this to me!"

My sentence was cut short when a hand touched the top of my head. A figure walked around till they were in my line of sight. I was a tall older man covered head to toe in black robes, what I could see of his face, which was covered in a white mask had dried blood splattered over it.

"Oh sweet girl, do not be afraid. For soon you will be one with our master and all will be done."

As soon as that sentence slithered past his lips, people, his followers emerged from the shadows the room was light with black candles and they began to chant. He began to speak in an old language, latin. I could only make out some of it, the words devil, prince and night repeated.  Then he stopped his hands out stretched and the others grew silent, he was handed a gold ceremonial dagger, clasping it with both hands he raised it above his head and looked down at men my eyes red from fear and crying.

"Oh Prince of Night, King of the Dammed please accept this young blood!"

With that he brought his dagger down plunging it in to my heart. Unlike people believe I didn't die immediately, instead I looked on in horror as blood welled up and over the blade and covered the altar. The room filled with whispers and a black smoke filled the room. The leader smiled madly and cried out.

"My lord this sacrifice is all well have please accept and fulfill our dreams!

At that point my vision had finally started to go and black spots covered all I could see, as my conscious slipped away I hear a rumbling female voice fill the room.

"Only one, no I see plenty, she will become my vessel, you will become my fodder"

No sooner had the voice finish then a chorus of screams of all those people fill the room, sounds of crunching bone and tear flesh followed. I awoke some time later. I couldn't feel anything, see anything then out ot the darkness I could start making out shapes, I was still in the alter room but the bodies or what was left of the people would had tried to kill me were strewn about. The sound of foot steps caught my attention. A woman leaned over me her face was cover in blood as if she had been the one who killed them... eaten them. Her eyes were a stunning gold.

"Who are you"

A cold fanged smile appeared.

"I am the one they summoned, You seem  like a perfect vessel, how about it give up you body and sould and you will no longer have worries of the mortal relm."

Immediately a small voice in my head agreed but the rest of me thought of a fast plan.

"Yes, please take me from here"

I cried, the woman smiled not seconds after I finished my sentence she gripped my hand.

"It is done"

I felt something inside me shatter as she started to turn to black smoke and hover over me. As the smoke sunk in I snarled.

"You can take the pain, my soul, but I'm keeping my body!"

No sooner had I said that the something changed, a scream filled the air and I could feel my self changing the chains holding me down snapped, a voice in my head screeched the faded.

"You may have banished me but now you will hold the demons blood! Foolish child all you love shall wither and die!"

I grit my teeth as my bones snapped and changed shape, I could feel my teeth changing and growing. I tried to scream but all that came out was an unholy sound that could only be seen as a demons. The room filled with black shadows, then flames.I may have lived but my old life, my human life burned away like the building I was in burned to the ground.
I expected to feel some emotion but there was nothing, except glee as the bodies burned and turned to dust. I was different and it felt... good.
