He couldn't tell where exactly he had wandered off to. The only thing he'd acknowledged at that moment, was the fact that he was lost in a sea of yellow.

Tall yellow flowers stood rooted all around him, standing till' up to his waist. They smiled brightly up at him, blinding his poor eyes as if the sun's rays reflected off the plant replica and flashed into his small wide grey orbs, which were being squinted to adjust to the brightness.

And that was all that surrounded him.
Tall. Yellow. Flowers. And nothing else for more than half a mile. While his eight year-old mind may be exaggerating, it wouldn't be that hard to believe, considering how that was all he could see from his naked eyes' view.

He sighed. I'm lost, aren't I?

If he were as old as his parents, he could easily guide his way out of the practically never-ending flower patch. The situation would have been solved within half an hour flat.
Unfortunately, the kid's only eight. The best he could do at this age was to either cry to catch someone's attention, or plop himself down and fool around with the dozens of yellow flowers scattered all around him.

In the end, he chose the second option.
Softly, he laid himself down onto the grass and took hold of one of the flowers, poking its petals in curiosity and wonder. For several minutes, that seemed to be the only thing he did. The thought of wandering away from his parents soon ceased to linger in his head.

Not long after, another being plopped down beside him, while he was in the midst of picking at another flower.

'You like sunflowers too?'

hewoo~ it's been a long time since i last wrote anything fictional
(to be exact, it's been 1 year 7 months since i've been on hiatus)

so i may be a little rusty??? okay vERY, it's been that long since i've honed my writing skills
but i'll try to get back on my feet & improve! hopefully, i'll even exceed previous standards :3

this is a little sneak preview of the first chapter! i'm currently working on the last few portions of it before officially releasing the entire chapter, so do wait a little longer!
