Cartman was walking along a sidewalk, with Kyle following behind him. "How much longer till we get there?" Kyle asked. Before he went out on the trip, Kyle had grabbed his coat and regular clothes before going out, but he was still cold. "It'll only be a few minutes." Cartman replied. "I wonder, why do you wanna go in there? Is there a treasure in there or something?" Kyle inquired.
"If I knew there was a treasure in there, I wouldn't have brought a greedy Jew with me."
"Don't belittle my people, fatass!"
But a question popped up in Kyle's mind. "But why do you want someone to go with you in the first place?" Kyle asked.
"Eh, I feel it'll be safer if I had someone with me, so that way if something bad happens, at least one person will be there to save me." Cartman replied. "So you're telling me indirectly that you're scared?" Kyle couldn't hold back the laughter in his voice. "Am not!" Cartman shouted defensively. But Kyle could see, even in the dark, that his face was red, and it only made him laugh harder. "Goddammit stop laughing, Jew!"
Kyle didn't even take offense to that insult this time. He was already having a good time. Maybe going to this place would be fun. His parents had told him he needed to be more optimistic. Maybe he could.

"We're here, Kahl." What greeted the two boys was a wide, gaping mouth that led to a cave. Kyle felt a little uneasy at the sight of it, and he understood why Cartman wanted someone to come with him. Kyle sure as hell himself wouldn't wanna go in there alone. Cartman took out two flashlights and handed Kyle one. "The woman was murdered somewhere in this cave. Maybe if we look far enough, we might see her rotting corpse!"
Kyle knew Cartman was trying to scare him and scoffed, "Maybe her ghost will rip out your fat intestines." "Ay, I'm not fat, you fucking Jew!"
But Kyle could see the slightest hint of fear in his eyes, and he chuckled at his success of scaring Cartman. "What's so funny?" Cartman asked scornfully. "Nothing, nothing..." Kyle snickered. Cartman simply rolled his eyes, clearly not looking for a fight, and said, "Let's go."
This was untypical of Cartman. He would usually be up for an argument with Kyle, but this time he just shrugged it off like it was nothing. That was the first red flag Kyle spotted.
Kyle and Cartman entered the cave, one by one. "Are you sure we're allowed to be here?" Kyle asked. "Dude, no one's been in this place since that lady was killed, and besides, it's not like anyone's gonna know." Cartman replied. Kyle sighed. He started walking alongside Cartman deeper into the mouth of the cave, wondering what the point of this was. The farther they went into the cave, the colder it was. Kyle had to resist the urge to press his body against Cartman's. He didn't understand why Cartman wanted to go in that stupid cave in the first place. There was probably nothing in there. Still, it was better than having poor Ike explore with Cartman instead of him. They kept walking until they reached an intersection, where there were two tunnels leading to different chambers. "I say we take the left one." Cartman suggested. "Okay, fine..." Kyle really didn't care where they went, as they were probably gonna find nothing anyways. But Cartman didn't seem to care. In fact, judging by his facial expression, it seemed as if he were up to something. Another red flag. Kyle didn't like that look. They walked for at least 10 more minutes, finding nothing but more intersections. "I think we're deep enough." Cartman called out to Kyle from across a really large chamber. "What for? What was the point of this?" Kyle asked irritatedly, looking for answers. Cartman had a smirk on his face, and he said very menacingly, "Jews are so easy to trick." He approached Kyle. "W-What the hell, get away from me, fatso!" Kyle backed up against a wall. Through the little light he could see emitting from his flashlight, he could see that Cartman's face was a darker shade of red than normal. Kyle assumed that the shadows were tricking him. Kyle continued to plaster his body as close to the wall as he could, but then realized, Wait, this is Cartman we're dealing with. If I punched him once, he'd already be knocked out. Kyle got off the wall and was able to position his body in a defensive, threatening stance. "I'm not afraid to fight." Kyle threatened Cartman. But Cartman's eyes softened. "I'm not going to hur-"
