no more that 5 minutes later, Cassia heard someone knocking at her door. Taking a minute to compose herself and her emotions, she opened the door wide. As expected, her mom stood outside. 'Did you have a good day, X000X?' she asked in her dull monotone voice that Cassia's 82% sure had been 'borrowed' from some human. 'Yes mother' . You may be wondering why Cassia's called X000X. Unfortunately, the only answer youll get to that is that thats her name.
'I'm afraid your sister isnt having a good day, X000X. Do you mind cheering her up' 'Of course, Mother'. Cassia was furious. Its not like its anything unusual, her mom taking her 'sisters' side but it still stings. Because it happened every time. If humanoids were capable of feeling emotions, id wonder if she was doing this on purpose. 'By the way, 30086's home unit is coming over. They are new to the society' Immediately, questions started to crowd in Cassias head. New??...would that mean their still human, Probably not. 'Would you do me a favour and please go buy us dinner' It wasnt a question. 'Of course Mother'. I couldve sworn i saw a hint of sadness in her eyes but it passed by in a flash, returning to her usual emotionless expression.
10 mins later :
The grocery store was empty. No cashiers, or people queuing up to purchase their groceries like there were in books. There also werent any racks of food, or a fridge. The entire store was empty apart from this one big apparatus placed in the middle. Cassia marched briskly towards it, as any normal self respecting humanoid would and pressed the green button on the side. the apparatus buzzed to life, displaying the options available. Dinner : > Lunch : > Breakfast : > dessert [Insert adult humanoid card]. Cassia clicked the dinner option and scanned her bio-metric card (which had been inserted into the palm of her hand when she was cured). 'your purchases will be delivered promptly to your home unit, thank you for your patience'. Cassia growled under her breath at the annoyingly fake cheerful tone.
At home :
'Mother!, the 30086s are here' my so called sister called.
