Of all the giant world-changing events going on it was surprising how the school dance crept upon us. Pyrrha was surprisingly quiet about the upcoming dance.
I wonder if she's already decided on who to go with. What worries me though is should I ask her? I mean we should be a couple now and going to this dance would further cement our relationship. What do I do?!
The school dance on Sunday was steadily approaching and Jaune was surprisingly silent about the whole event. Maybe he's had his mind on other more pressing matters like the recent White Fang attack in Vale, or the previous incident with Cardin. He might even be preoccupied with our first mission with a professional huntsman the day after the dance. If this is true I would be disappointed, but also admire his listing of priorities, what do I do?
"Hey lovebirds, you two already forget about the dance?" Nora asked.
We were both jolted out of our trains of thought.
I didn't appreciate that since I was already nervous about the whole issue of figuring out how to talk to Pyrrha about this.
Nora really knew how to spark up a conversation, but this was definitely not timed well based on Jaune's reaction, although it was really adorable.
"Pyrrha you seem awfully focused on Jaune," Nora grinned.
Nora's words lit the tense silence that was now hanging in the air firing electric connections of thought amongst the three of them.
Jaune's thoughts were still fixated on Pyrrha and the dance. Nora's words managed to fly over his head. Pyrrha was now anxious and eager to step away from the topic as soon as possible, her mind completely going haywire with a ton of what to do sprouting from her thoughts. Nora looked hungry to know the truth between these star-crossed dorks. The dance was a perfect way to get the Arkos shield rolling.
"Maybe we should change the subject, Nora," Ren insisted.
Pyrrha looked to Ren with relief and he simply nodded back to her with his lyrical smile.
Nora matched Pyrrha's eyes with booming determination and a wide smug grin.
"Okay Pyrrha, wanna talk about my plans for the dance?" she asked gleefully.
"Of course, that would be lovely," Pyrrha quickly replied.
I had no idea what Nora was talking about, but Pyrrha looked pale when I looked at her. Was Nora holding a dirty secret over her or something? I gently gripped Pyrrha's arm and instead of easing into my grip she pulled her arm back with surprise and I could see the blushing and flustering burning right in front of me, I had to admit it was really cute.
"I'm sorry Jaune, just a bit on edge!" Pyrrha apologized.
"It's okay Pyrrha, I was just worried about you," he replied.
Oh gods, the way he said that just burned me up inside. It really is harder to talk to him about anything now. You would think our boundaries and relationship would get easier to define now with a first kiss past us, but frankly, it was the opposite and that was just maddening in reality.
"Pyrrha, is everything okay?" he asked with concern.
Oh no, my bright yellow knight is seeing how haywire things are looking from the outside. Okay, breathe Pyrrha Nikos, center yourself.
"I'm fine Jaune really, I'm sorry I worried you." she falsely smiled back at him.
I was finding it hard to buy her little act especially with her fake smile that just told me she was hiding something. It's probably because of Nora with how much she was prying at us with her shocking questions.
