[Hallos hallos!! Welcome to the first chapter. If you have been brought here by curiosity, desperation because there's barely any Hollow Knight fics here, or perhaps its just out of boredom and you'll forget about this later, I welcome you with open arms] :D

[Whoop bloop, thought the story I, the narrator, wont have any clue to what y'all, the reader's, preferred pronouns are or what you could even remotely look like so Imma just use some fillers, but as for the pronouns Imma go as Gender Neutral as I can-- darn that looks and sounds odd .-." But what Im tryna say is that if there's any words, like pronouns or occupation titles, I'll tread along the Gender Neutral term but if there isn't a middle ground, I'll just put both titles and put a slash through because English is odd, now, onto the story!!]

[Oh!! Also, a running theme in all stories of mine is that Imma slip in a doodle or two into every part, sometimes I'll skip but other times I'll jam pack it full] :>

"Yes, your Radiance, you know that I'll do anything for you."

Those few sentences still echo through your mind. It's only been about three-four moons since you had accepted your ruler's proposition too you. Hah, never had I actually expected it in all my time existing. That feeling of adrenaline, streaked with anxiety coiled in your chest and bum rushed about like a puck in a pachinko game but upping the speed and overall having more bounce. More or less, I was terrifically thrilled! Before the proposition, I had only been a simple moth who cleaned and fixed anything in her Lorde's palace, always open to lend a hand to anyone who needs it! Originally I were only to be one of the few bugs that were to keep her Majesty's home in tip top shape, but over time I just found myself just doing more and more. There was so much to do in such little time, such little help. Perhaps the others working alongsides me had been busy attending to other parts of the splendid fortress, So perhaps, staying behind to make sure that things are for sure all fixed up is going to do for both them and I! And if you're a bit curious to know what I mean by 'keeping things fixed' best for you to know, bugs serving in her royal court remain in her palace. So best expect it that sometimes the knights fool around and crack pillars and damage furniture at times most and most unexpected. I know they don't mean to do so, but dear Wyrm they sure do they make a hell of a mess.

 It's still hard to believe that I've been accepted into the radiance's royal court, with just the lucky pick of actions and choosing the right words, I had just made the greatest decision of my lifetime. Perhaps if I let my raging fear get the best of me, it could've shattered and disappeared right before my eyes just like that... But. A royal retainer. That's what I'd become!

Giggling lightly to myself, I can't help but cover my face with my soft, plushy hands. The silky soft sheets of the new canopy bed slip around the mattress and even curl around my frame. The mattress isn't like anything I've ever felt like before, quite ironic to say but, it was like lying on a sweet sweet dream. Hell, this new room is just everything I could've asked for!... well, with one or two exceptions actually. Having to remove myself permanently from my old homestead was painful. All my warm, welcoming memories from before when I was just a small child to now where I stand in life, living on my own and providing the best for myself. I cannot just pass an opportunity up like this, but all those precious memories, I cannot just leaves behind. They wrap me up in a cocoon of comfort, one in which I feel safe, feel welcome, feel at home. But it's time to move forward, Im sure that I'll make so many new, great memories living in her Royal Fortress, and I shall learn to move on. Though, reminiscing and visiting my vacant cottage once in a while doesn't sound all too bad. Well that is if no one moves in- Sitting up, I turn my head towards the open window and scuffle on out of bed.
