First off, my family has always been split. Dad left when I was 3 and never returned. Now it's Mom and I, to be honest, it's hard. But we're making it. I also have my best friend, Joana. She has known me since middle school. She is what you called "a smart kid". Straight A's, Honor Roll and even Student Council. Being a senior is a "once in a lifetime chance". You never get to be one again (at least in high school). So I'm making the most of it. I go to the Mary Wilson High School (MWHS) in Pennsylvania. Since our school is highly diverse, we have goths, gamers, and the hippies. We aren't exclusive, more like one big family but, we all have our own friends.
So today I meet Joana to discuss the list. She is the only one to know about it. "Hey girl! Let's get down to business." Joana says.
"Hey! I have the list here." I reply.
I go over with Joanna the list and the order we do things. First things first,I show her the list:
Run a marathon
Swim across the delaware river
Get on stage at a Katy Perry concert
Go skydiving in Cali
Ride a hot air balloon over New York
Run away for 3 days
These 8 things are what I want to do before I leave high school. I walk to Chem (ugh) with Jo. If I didn't have her, I wouldn't make it. We walk in and take the only two seats available. Which, would obviously be in the back. I sit down and pull out a notebook and some pens. Our teacher, Mrs. Watkins is fairly young. A Princeton graduate as of 2 years ago. She starts off the day by telling us about an upcoming test and continues with the lesson. The rest of the day goes by in a blur. When I drive up to my house, I bolt out getting my things ready for the list. My Mom does know, but she advises me to not do this all at once. It's true, I don't want to miss consecutive days at the end of the year. I call Jo and we plan to leave tomorrow morning for #1.
