Day #3 (Thursday)

Chris and I haven't been really talking to each other recently. Lately I guess we've been both busy with school. Final exams and just overall work. I feel like we've distanced, and we're holding each other back. I really don't like to admit it though. Jo and I didn't go to school today. We are going to a Katy Perry Concert and completing #3 on our list. Jo comes over to give me my ticket and to discuss our plan.

"So here's your ticket." she enthusiastically says.

"Why is mine the ⅔ ticket?" I ask

"Oh, it must be a typo." she blows it off. Suspicious.

"Ok so we go in and move towards the middle. Then we make our way to the stage. When the lights shine towards the back, climb onto the stage and DO ANYTHING. Dance, sing, flail your arms. Just get noticed." Jo exaggerates.

"We'll be noticed just by going up there." I point out.

It's 6:30 and I will be leaving at 7 to see the concert. I am lucky to have a Katy shirt from Junior year. So I pair that with shorts and sneakers and sunglasses. I grab my phone and see 2 missed calls from Jo. She probably wanted to make sure I was leaving. I ignore them and jump in my car. When I arrive at the doors, loud music blasts in my face.I hear footsteps and turn around to see Jo coming up to me.

"Hey Cathy!"

"You look cute!"

"So do you." says a familiar voice. Strong arms hug me from behind. Chris. It's almost been 2 weeks since I saw Chris in person. I am so glad I have a bff like Jo. I look over to her and she smiles, which says everything she doesn't. But that feeling I had before, returns. I want to believe Chris wasn't avoiding me on purpose, but I'm honestly not sure.

"Visiting family huh?" I giggle.

"Yes, surely you would count soon." he winks.

"Did Jo tell you about our list?"

"She explained what we were going to do tonight and that it would be a surprise for you."

"Aw that's sweet." I smile.

"Anytime." he says kissing my forehead. Right then, the stadium doors opened and a cold blast of air and loud music greeted us. Chris, Jo and I walk hand in hand to the middle section and wait patiently for the show to start.

Lights dim. The music stops. Everything's quiet for a split second.

"Ladies and gentlemen please put your hands together for...Katy Perry!" Applause erupts from the crowd. Cheers fill the earlier silence. Katy emerges from the bottom of the stage and the crowd goes wild. We all take silly selfies and cheer on with the crowd.

"This is our chance. The spotlight is on her we can move up." Jo nudges. I nod in return. I motion Chris to follow us and we make our move. But then the songs blow by and the lighting changes. The lights cruise through the audience so we all freeze. Another 30 minutes pass by before we were able to walk up again. We three move swiftly past people being careful not to be noticed. Now we ended up at the front of the stage. We aren't able to take the stairs because security blocks it, so we plan to just climb on. Katy starts to sing T.G.I.F and we strike. Chris stays back to record us while we make a mess. Jo and I get up on stage and break into a dance fever. Katy clearly looks confused but keeps going. I see security noticing what's going on. Jo and I sing and dance, while and crowd joins in. We loved it. That moment when the whole world made sense, was the best. The feeling you get like your numb. All the pain eases away and you lose yourself in the music. That's the beauty of it. Below I can see Chris laughing his head off at us. I just hope to get a good picture. Security comes up to escort us. But instead we are getting led outside. I catch a glimpse of Chris running towards us. An officer leads us outside and the cool night air gives us a fresh breath.
